Re: Brentford
Winnable games too! I hope they make it. Been very good and flirting with a big season for a few years now. Should be great inspiration for clubs like ourselves.

Re: Brentford
Implemented a pretty unique system, which was a brave move in the Championship and it’s paying off.
As much as It guts me up to see where wolves and Brentford are since we were at the top with them 6 years ago, I hope they do it.

Re: Brentford
Hope The Bees go up, though I’d be amazed if they don’t come straight back down. Must be something in that Moneyball malarky, and having a rich fan as an owner who treats his fans with respect. Would be a good send-off for Griffin Park too.
Congrats to Leeds on returning to the PL after 16 years too. Quite like that barking Bielsa chappie.

Re: Brentford
You have to acknowledge they have built a great side there- good to watch, too.
And to think they just pipped us to promotion in 13/14. They've built relatively steadily since, and deserve a crack at the Prem really.
Shows what can be done. In 'true' terms, they are no bigger than Orient.

Re: Brentford
I watched Brentford play Chesterfield in 1966 or 1967. They were in the old Fourth division. Gate was about 8000, which was what you expected. Not even a whiff of bovver. About 8-12 Chesterfield supporters. In those days I was a Chelsea supporter, They would average gates of around 40,000. Orient were in the old division 2. Me and my mates supported either: Chelsea, Spurs or Arsenal. But we would go to other London Clubs whenever we could, to tick them off our bucket list. Brentford were dire. Their "star" was Docherty.

Re: Brentford
Only watched by a " crowd " of just over 14,000. Will that be enough punters to keep them in the Premier for very long?

Re: Brentford
I enjoyed the rivalry with Brentford over the years. I quite liked their ground but never really liked them as a club. I had an ex-girlfirend who was a Brentford fan which probably didn't help. However, what they've acheived is impressive. I know they'd had money behind them but so have lots of other lower league clubs and most have got nowhere. They did things differently and it's paid off. I hope they do well this season. I didn't think I'd ever say that.

Too many memories of the assault on Kenny Achampong, the Battle of Brentford and the 4-3 Ricky Otto match to ever 'like' them.
However, they clearly have a business model that works and it's something for us to aspire to......even if I'm not sure that I really want Orient in the Premiership.
Good luck to them though and it was good to watch this evening, even of only for Carragher's comment 'the defending there was just ......Arsenal'

Brentford have done really well however, they wouldn't be in the Premiership if they had Hearn in charge
