From his time at Brentford but this is a very interesting insight into the guy. If it's not just a fluff piece, he could be good for us. Time will tell.

Interesting article and an insight to how he sees the game and how he believes players should be treated. Fits in with Ross.
So next season we shall see more possession based football and players having more freedom rather than being told. That latter point sits well with Ross because that’s how I saw us last season. The players making it up as they went along with little direction from the top.
For sure a good, honest, hard-working professional. Personally I’d sooner have Jobi as player/assistant. He has all those attributes and more besides, knows the players, knows the club, saves a wage, hits the ground running. But maybe he was offered and turned it down.

Agree with Dohnut, Jobi would have been my preference indeed, for the same reasons cited.

It's almost like people should have taken a step back, evaluated things and then formed a view rather than knee jerk reacted at the news.

If this article is anything to go by, Danny seems like an intelligent guy, he played the game at pro level for a long time and a has very good all round knowledge of the game coupled with good coaching skills, but do we need so MANY coaches, especially if Lawless and Harrold are also going to be helping out with the coaching ? Strange indeed that with all the vast combined playing experiences of all our football coaches, that the man who has the most limited experience of actually playing professional football...........is the man in the top job, ummmm ?

It wasn't a big issue for double European Cup winning manager Arrigo Sacchi, who had less of a playing career than Ross but managed one of the greatest AC Milan sides of all time in the 90's. Plus Parma, Atletico Madrid and the Italian National Team.
To quote him; 'I never realised that in order to become a jockey you have to have been a horse first'.

Yes there is always an exception to the rule, but apart from being a student of the game, Arrigo Sacchi also possessed great man management skills, that is something that is within the person, that invaluable gift does just not come along with the soccer coaching badges, Jobi has that gift.

That’s true, there are always exceptions. But it remains that having a decent playing career is beneficial, though not always mandatory.
