Funny - I watched the South Park episode which mocked them for the name, the other day.
I know the Cleveland Indians are also considering a name change.

So they should. Though given they stood in defiance about their logo Chief Wahoo for so many years I wouldn't bank on them being so swift to change.

Apparently the Red Tails is among the favourites in commemoration of the squadron of all black pilots that fought in WW2.
Are the Cleveland Browns going to have to change?

Their name? No, definitely not going to need to change that,

yeah its crazy that they only got rid of that a couple of seasons ago.
It amazes me how MLB and NFL are very quick to uproot and move whole franchises across the country, with complete name changes, then it makes financial sense but they take years to change some pretty obviously offensive logo or name.

Good point that, hadn't thought of it in that way.

There’s loads of minor league teams across US sports with iffy suffixes too. Many are in Trump-Land areas, so there will be resistance to change.

Red tails, Red wolves and Warriors are the front runners among ‘skins fans at the moment. DC journalists are not touting anything in particular so I think Snyder and Reveira are either still undecided or playing it close to their chests.

That appeared to be an early front runner, but many see it as too closely associated with the overtly racist owner that brought the Boston Braves to Washington in the ‘30s.

Can't just be Leyton like the old amateur club.
Back to Glyn Cricket Club or Eagle Cricket Club?

I personally don't follow that sport, but as its the capital of the country, why not call themselves the Washington Patriots? Would that not work?

There already is a Patriots in the NFL. Am I being woooooshed here?
There are some good names for some of the college teams based on the appropriate state's history (e.g Tenessee Volunteers, Oklahoma Sooners) so they should be able to find something decent.
