The ‘Circus’ at our near neighbours continues. Reminds me of our period under the previous owner.

That last comment was just being light hearted to the video showed.
It would not surprise me to see Sol soon back in management maybe at premier or championship level.

Yeah!!...ive just got this strange feeling that he may have left Southend with another position close to being finalised. The world of football will be looking very different probably from the start of next season and many appointments will be influenced from recent events.
Premiership could be a step too far but a championship club keeps coming to mind.

Interesting.
"Speak to those inside the club and a lack of communication would also often be the biggest criticism of Campbell’s regime. The 45-year-old is believed to have mainly only spoken to the coaches he brought in with him and had hardly any dialogue with the staff already at Roots Hall before his arrival. Since the start of lockdown, it is also understood Campbell has had minimum dialogue with one or two members of the squad but the majority went 12 weeks with no contact at all".
(The Roots Hall hierarchy must also learn from their own recent mistakes. And it is time to appoint the best name not the biggest).

Before the announcement today of Sol Campbell resigning as manager of Southend i had been thinking of a certain championship club who could be looking to appoint a new manager before the start of next season.
With recent events and the current movement towards a fairer equal opportunities in coaching and management appointments the timing could fit well.
That club is QPR, pure speculation i know but could see it happening and they have a director of football who i would imagine carries a lot of influence at the club.

Based on his record to date, it would strike me as strange if he were to land a Championship job.
I'd say he'd be very lucky to even get another crack at L1
He comes across as a somewhat conceited, deluded, and arrogant man. Obviously, I've never worked with the bloke, so I can't say for sure, but based on his press musings this is how he comes across.
The excerpt that Bergen pasted above would seem to confirm this though. He Was a good player, but perhaps just isn't management material. It is widely known that a large part of the job now is man-management, and perhaps Sol just doesn't have that in his locker.

He was always aiming too high. At the beginning of his off-field career, he could probably have got himself a gig as a number two to learn the basics like Dean Smith, but he seems to have considered that as an ex-England player he deserved a top job straight away.
No idea if he has the right qualities for a Number 1 or 2 although he did manage to save Macclesfield from relegation against the odds.

Oh of course, silly me- straight to Liverpool then.

The trouble is he went to the Macclesfield interview thinking he was going to Manchester utd, and then went to Southend thinking he going to Southampton.

All the above is very harsh on a bloke who wanted to start his managerial career at the bottom and do the hard yards to earn a move to a bigger club. Did an amazingly good job at Macclesfield as well.
I’d have him as Orient manager in a heartbeat. Better manager/coach than Ross in my opinion.

I know Campbell's management record is not great so far but i dont think that will be the deciding factor on where his next managerial position may be. It has been a constant debate on the media over the past few years about BAME footballers not getting the chance to become coaches or managers at top clubs in British football. I actually agree with that argument but i would definetly be against someone getting a advantage in getting a job because of colour....Black or White!!
The current climate could be a major factor in upcoming managerial appointments that is why i think someone like Sol will be strongly in the running.
He will have a argument in place that his previous jobs with Macclesfield and Southend were both at clubs with serious financial problems, and he would be right.

I would like to see how he performs at a stable club, personally I think he would do a decent job. The only issue appears that at both clubs he has had a certain amount of aloofness which probably wouldn't be tolerated by players or owners for that matter. That part of the equation would have to be addressed or the dressing room will be lost as we've seen here a few times in recent years.

That is true, they were Both basket cases, and he Did have a decent run at Macclesfield, in fairness.
It's one thing "getting" a job though, and perhaps a more stable club might give him a chance still; but another thing keeping it. If he didn't bother to speak to the players, and the existing staff, at Southend as has been rumoured, it would seem he would need to change, or have his work cut out again elsewhere.

I think that his communication skills are the big question mark over him. If he gets another chance and the reports confirm the same issue, that's him done for in management.

I agree with most of the above comments regards Sol Campbell's management skills. As a footballer he was a quality defender and had a great career but whenever reading or watching him talking about various subjects it always appeared he had a touch if arrogance. On the pitch that is probably a good thing but in management you could imagine the problems it could create. Then again could anyone be more arrogant or self opinionated than Jose Marinho and he has won everything!!
If it's not Sol that gets a big gig then i'm sure someone from the BAME community could be Premiership or more likely Championship bound.
