Re: Jimmy Smith
We need to look forward and I’d be very surprised if Jimmy returned.
You’ll be asking for Mooney and Lisbie next

Re: Jimmy Smith
There is no chance of him returning and rightly so.
What is it with some people who are obsessed with bringing players back?

Re: Jimmy Smith
As soon as an ex Orient player is released, you can almost bet your mortgage, that someone on here, will post a "bring him home", or " get him in the building" message......no matter how old they are, no matter how unfit they are, no matter how crap they are
Happens every time
Happens every time

Re: Jimmy Smith
His time has been and gone, but thanks so much Jimmy for that goal at Norwich. One of my top ten awaydays.

Re: Jimmy Smith
Was only kiddin with the opening post, some of you guys tho...
Having said all that I thought he was a lot better than most gave him credited when he was here. Scored some good important goals for us. Unfortunately another 'favourite' with boo boys & girls.

Yep, remember it well, a local away day for me, and the second time I'd seen us dump Norwich out the cup at Carrow Road, Peter Kitchen the lone scorer the previous time.

Re: Jimmy Smith
Should have played at a much higher level. Always had a touch of the Martin Peters about him...for younger viewers he used to ghost into the Box and steal a goal. Won a World Cup Winners’ Medal. Martin, not Jimmy.

I’d bring Cisse back. I’d bring Koroma back, I’d bring Bonne back.Disoriented wrote: ↑Wed Jun 17, 2020 10:26 am There is no chance of him returning and rightly so.

Re: Jimmy Smith
Think that's a bit strong. He was a good League One player but he lacked the physical or technical ability to go higher. Obviously had excellent awareness, movement and positioning though.Give it to Jabo wrote: ↑Wed Jun 17, 2020 1:44 pm Should have played at a much higher level. Re: Jimmy Smith
Don't ever recall him being booed, in fairness. Clearly had some ability, but wasn't dubbed "Jimmy the Ghost" for nothing. He was often anonymous.
The goals at Norwich and Swansea were indeed memorable, but, I think he averaged 3-4 goals a season, so he was no Dean Cox
Still he's managed to carve out a pro-career in the lower echelons of the League, so fair play to him. Absolutely no way I would want back though.
