Venezuela
Anybody know why the right wing USA/CIA backed failed anti democratic leader of the failed Coup D'Etat is not under lock and key awaiting execution?

Re: Venezuala
Probably the same reason why the Russian and Chinese backed leader is not. He runs the army though so maybe he’s OK for now.

Re: Venezuala
Just remember Maduro is a democratically elected leader, and as such, the people will have the chance to remove him, if they so wish, at the next General election
Its outrageous that a foreign power ( USA), should wish to remove a democratically elected government by force.
If were all honest we know, America wants to get its hands on the biggest supply of oil, in the world
America is just a terrorist state when it comes down to it

Re: Venezuala
Funny peculiar people Americans at times and their politicians are even more peculiar IMO. But they don't see it that way.
But I love 'em, so naive, so friendly to Brits, but in New York, they cannot understand a broad Suffolk accent, but neither Mrs Nes or me can understand a broad New York accent most of the time.

Re: Venezuala
Considering the turmoil the Venezuela is in maybe they should have a General Election now . One that is overseen by foreign observers so it's not rigged.ComeOnYouOs wrote: ↑Sat May 04, 2019 10:38 am Just remember Maduro is a democratically elected leader, and as such, the people will have the chance to remove him, if they so wish, at the next General election

Re: Venezuala
Agree, sounds about right. I have little sympathy for regimes that cling onto power and in order to do so, will even turn the Army onto their own people.RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Sat May 04, 2019 11:31 amConsidering the turmoil the Venezuela is in maybe they should have a General Election now . Re: Venezuala
The last election was monitored by foreign observers, a company I believe owned by ex President Carter. He reported everything was done by the book and the elections were completely fair and above boardRedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Sat May 04, 2019 11:31 amConsidering the turmoil the Venezuela is in maybe they should have a General Election now . Read about this election on Wikipedia and it would appear that this election was critically flawed by irregularities.ComeOnYouOs wrote: ↑Sat May 04, 2019 12:38 pmThe last election was monitored by foreign observers, a company I believe owned by ex President Carter. Amongst other things it says, I quote............
'' The Carter Center turned down Maduro's invitation to send an observation team on election day, as did other election observing institutions.''

Re: Venezuala
The US has been screwing South America for decades. It has backed every right wing/fascist body it could, one after another, just as long as they could prevent any "commie" insurgence into their own backyard (as they see it). The US has a lot of blood on it's hands in South America. They've supported regimes that routinely torture and murder their opposition. The land of the free huh...........

Both forms eventually lead to Dictatorships backed up by the Military Generals.

Think you've spectacularly missed the point here. Do you really believe the US hasn't interfered in the internal politics of many South American countries and caused countless deaths by doing so?roffeys money wrote: ↑Sun May 05, 2019 4:42 pm So many people jealous of the USA on here, hilarious.

No I agree they have but my point still stands.
Incidentally have you checked out the situation in Nicaragua recently where the Sandinista govt lead by Ortega is violating the human rights of the people there?
