Season Ticket next year???
Been deliberating, but probably will.
Last/This season I have found underwhelming in truth following the sheer excitement and highs of the previous season.
Looking at the retained squad, there's not many players who can get me on the edge of my seat. One exception is Cox in waiting, James Brophy. He is anything but sterile. Sotiriou: I would like to see more of him.
(Also, I have reservations about Ross in charge. Fancy taking out his chewing gum and throwing it at his opposite number. I know he was seriously provoked, but come on. how can one respect such petulant behaviour from the Number One)

Re: Season Ticket next year???
Still prevaricating also, GITJ, but no doubt will.
Don't really get the Brophy love-in. Seems an honest enough player, but I think mid L2 is his level due to no end product.Sincerely hope I am wrong though of course.
Agree completely re Sotiriou - I fear he will be off sooner rather than later though.
I think our most talented player is JMD. Needs to put himself about a bit more and up the interest levels though, but he could be a special player for us no doubt imho.
Embleton, at times, has been an embarrassment to the club. The football has been largely fetid too. He's still young though, in managerial terms. If I was the club I'd give him 6 more months to establish an upturn, then accept that it just hasn't really worked out.

Agree with you Scuba about JMD. Can be very stylish but can also fade away in games.

Brophy has no end product but serial waster of chances JMD is the most talented at the club?Scuba Diver wrote: ↑Sun Jun 07, 2020 11:24 am Still prevaricating also, GITJ, but no doubt will.

James Brophy is a left winger who has been asked to play at left back, left wing back and behind the striker far too much. He needs to play in his best position every week.
Embleton isn't a manager, he's been shafted by Ling to buy him some time.

Being 68, overweight with diabetes and ischaemic heart disease, I dont think I can renew until there is a proven vaccine. I am however successfully dieting!

No idea why they’re going to phone us ??
I’ve just sent our application off with a cheque for payment and hope that will suffice.
There’s something on the club website about a special mailing coming out this week.
Amazing that over 1,500 have committed so far without knowing if or when fans might be allowed into the stadium.

At the moment I'm leaning more towards no than yes. Can't see stadium being open in an enjoyable way for some time, can't bear all this social distancing stuff and I want to stay as far away from public transport as humanly possible.
On the football side would definitely wait to see our transfer activity, with the current squad can only see a relegation battle again.

Re: Season Ticket next year???
Got the "special" mail in the post today.
The gist of it is that if any home games are played behind closed doors then a season card gets you complimentary streaming. Also 4 free guest tickets included (3 adults, 1 kid).
And renew/buy before end of June to save £30 on adult tickets.
BTW, believe the phone call is something to do with changing payment providers, but could be wrong.

No idea how the club can calculate a transfer budget given they dont know when the season will start and whether fans will be allowed in.gshaw wrote: ↑Mon Jun 08, 2020 3:42 pm At the moment I'm leaning more towards no than yes. Why would I want to pay about £14 for a stream?

Re: Season Ticket next year???
Are they taking the piss? £14 for a stream that doesn't even work properly. I pay for a season ticket to go to the game and sit with my mates, not to spend £14 watching Walsall away from my own home.o-no wrote: ↑Mon Jun 08, 2020 3:43 pm Got the "special" mail in the post today.

Re: Season Ticket next year???
To be fair, although the first couple of attempts were quite dodgy, they've got the tech working now. The last couple I saw were perfect, with commentary, replays and captions.
I guess you could argue you're paying £14 for something that would otherwise be £10 though.

Er, hope so. If there isn't a next year it's going to hit the calendar and diary making industries particularly hard.
And I have just bought my ST - mainly so I can keep my seat and inflict my dubious sense of humour on the poor sods who sit near me.

Yup the one I watched was flawless. Needs a better commentator though.o-no wrote: ↑Mon Jun 08, 2020 9:33 pm To be fair, although the first couple of attempts were quite dodgy, they've got the tech working now. The last couple I saw were perfect, with commentary, replays and captions.

The problem with L2 behind closed doors streaming is that it'll look like a park game. Sky are trying to counter that (as seen with the German games) with crowd noise being dubbed in linked to an app etc but the likes of Orient won't be doing that. Think the novelty will wear off very quickly and highlights will be more than enough.

Re: Season Ticket next year???
I can’t justify it until we know there will be football to attend. I’m sure lots of people will be thinking the same.
The promise of a stream rather than a refund just doesn’t cut it.

There were no issues with the stream other than the first few games/months, for me anyway.

Re: Season Ticket next year???
The Phone call was to take payment as all staff that are not furloughed are working from home Lyndsey is/was the only person dealing with payments.
The ticket Office re-opens next week so anything sent to the club be it cheque applications or emails will I guess be responded to when staff return.

Made a final decision and won’t be getting one for the first time in about 12 years.
