East, East, East Lundin

Post by Max B Gold »

Robert Jenrick, the housing, communities and local government secretary, knew that the former media tycoon Richard Desmond had only 24 hours to have an East End property development approved before hefty community charges were imposed on the billionaire’s project. The imposition of Tower Hamlets council’s community infrastructure levy (CIL) would have cost Desmond at least £40m.

Another despicable story that’s slipped under the radar but shows up what the tories are really about and who they are really for.

Still find it mildly hilarious (and disturbing) that anyone who isn’t a millionaire votes for the Tories. Bless, they think they are part of their gang.

The tories biggest trick is convincing the Ordinary Man In The Street that they have their best interests at heart. They’ve been doing it for 200 years and it still works. To be honest sometimes I just think f*** it, you voted for this shower, now deal with it.

I put this in the Tory thread the other day. Here's some further informarion:

Another bent Tory - Robert Jenrick.

Admits an unlawful action - yet the Etonian Spaffer obviously won't sack him either. Lying and deceit appear to be a pre-requisite for being part of this current Tory Government.

Seriously, how can anyone continue to support this utter SCUM?

For those who voted Tory, please be honest............happy with your decision still?

I've thought that for about the last 40 years.

Closely followed by "you can't influence it so why get so wound up?"

Now a different government minister will decide the out come of the project, fcuk me, they're all the bloody same, aren't they?
The chief bluebottle will say "Give it the go-ahead" and, hey presto, it's all done and dusted.

Let’s hope Starmer can provide a sensible alternative that’s been missing. Milliband and Corbyn damaged Labour and made the party unelectable. Johnson didn’t get a massive majority because he was so good. He got it because Corbyn was so bad.

We have the Government Majority we live with now because of Corbyn. People wonder why I dislike him so much. Look at the state of politics now. How the feck did that happen? We all know the answer. Don’t blame the Tories for taking advantage of the open goal they were presented with.

Im not blaming the Tories.

It's the electorate and the media to blame.

Not saying the Corbyn would have changed the world, or even been a good PM but there's no one who can convince me that he would be doing a worse job than BoJo.

Not true. Johnson won because he pledged Brexit, and everyone who wanted Brexit voted for him. The opposition was fragmented, so Johnson won.

The opposition was fragmented you say. I have to wonder if Labour had a decisive leader whether it would have been so fragmented. However you slice it, it always comes back to Corbyn and his leadership. The guy just got it wrong as did May before him.

Labours leader was smeared and libeled for 4 years. Anti Semitic smears were made up to do him damage, and it worked.
It was Brexit that won the GE for Johnson

On the plus side, you don't hear that much said or written about antisemitism nowadays, do you? So it's good to hear that's all cleared up.

Yep. And considering how it was 'rife' throughout the party, Keir has certainly done a good job.

Didn’t he say he was opening an investigation into it and that he would do more to remove it and stop it from being a part of his party? If my memory is correct I’d suggest it’s an ongoing situation being dealt with / to be dealt with as he moves forwards.
