Bandoff - Chocolate Edition - Grand Final - Vote here

Post by StillSpike »

I suppose there were no real surprises in the Semi Finals, so here we have it. 36 bars started, now only two remain.

It's the battle of the solid bars - Galaxy, advertised with warm autumnal colours, and girls in yoga pants hiding chocolate from their flatmates, versus Cadbury Dairy Milk - there's a glass and a half of goodness in everyone.

Who will win - you decide.

No real surprises about the final two. Simple pleasures are often the best.

But, for me, Cadbury’s hasn’t been quite the same since the Yanks (Kraft>>Mondalez) bought it. There’s a slight whiff of Hersheys day old vomit about it these days. Whereas Galaxy (also owned by Septics: Mars Inc) still has a creamier, smoother texture. Don’t mess with the recipe, guys!

Agreed. The original Dairy Milk would have walked this, but it has to be Galaxy for me.

Remember the urban myth that it was Phil Collins in the gorilla suit on the Cadbury advert? :D

This'll probably be the final nail in the coffin of the CDM

My brother used to tell me it was him as he worked for JWT Advertising at the time. I believed him.
He also told me gems like Lenny Henry was paid 2 million a year for those ads.

Lowest common denominator here, which is the least bland of the options?

The whole competition was invalidated by the non inclusion of Mars Bars (not deep fried).

slacker said:- " There’s a slight whiff of Hersheys day old vomit about it these days. ".............................I bought a job lot of Hersheys from Costco about 20 years ago. When I told others about this odd, somewhat disgusting taste, they were incredulous. I have never, ever bought any since.

Used to work for Cadbury until the americans bought it, was a brilliant company to work for now it's just a brand - great shame.

Blimey! That was way way closer than I thought it would be. Galaxy edged it over Cadbury Dairy Milk 18-17, but if just one boarder had switched his or her (probably his, frankly) vote, then the result would have been the other way around.

Well done everyone. Next up - the cheese course.

The thing is, if any of us walked into a sweet shop right now, how many of us would buy one of these instead of one of the others that have already been eliminated?

I’d be too excited about just walking into a shop, to be honest.
