If he had a scintilla of decency and morality, he'd resign, and if doesn't, then Johnson should sack him

You really think either of those will happen. Just look at Johnson and others that have stood at the podium these past couple of months. We are now in a time where those in power do what they want without fear of repercussions. They feel they are untouchable and unfortunately in today's climate, they are.

No big deal.

Actually, what's great about this story is how Laura K has been totally found out as being a glorified PR machine for Government. She's actually been tweeting defensively in reply to other journalists breaking the news.

Client journalism at its finest.

All rather pointless though - not like Boris will stop seeking advice from Cummings even if he’s shunted off.

Trying to kill his parents or something? He's gotta go.

He has plenty of enemies in the Tory party, so ordinarily I'd expect to see him resign. Ordinarily.

He’ll survive. He’s too important to Johnson to be allowed to fall.

Oh dear what has Rasputin been at? Time to say Goodbye! Even if he goes, I guarantee you he will still be the main advisor to BoJo as he hasn't a clue what he is doing.

Just like every populist strategy these days. There will be outrage for few days, but they know something else will replace the story in people’s minds and no one can do anything about it. Depressing

At least the first Rasputin finally got his true come-uppance.

If anything was going to happen about this it would have happened by now. There's no way that Boris and many other top Tories haven't known about this for a long time. They don't give a crap clearly.

Are you insinuating that they hold the electorate in contempt and consider ‘one rule for us, one rule for them’ as an unofficial policy?

I have never implied that it was "unofficial".

I agree with you...I dont think he will resign or be sacked, BUT he should.
Your point about people in power feeling untouchable, is right, and morals and decency went out of the window a while ago now.
I was talking to my other half recently, and she said if John Profumo was around now, he wouldnt have resigned. ( for younger boarders, he was war minister in MacMillans government and he told HOC he wasnt having a sexual relationship with Christine Keeler...he was however and when he was found out he immediately resigned as a man of principle)
