4 unused home match tickets - what will the club do?

As fans we have missed out on 4 games, so have a good claim for recompense. Me personally, I am happy to waive this in support of the club but I understand that the cost of 4 games means a lot to many - even if its just because of the principle of it. The following is just an outline idea but I thought I'd put it out there and see what other ideas exist. To give you an idea, I think these 4 games were worth about £175-200k of season ticket revenue....
How about the club issuing vouchers to season ticket holders to be spent at the club over the next season (or 2). They cannot be redeemed against the cost of a season ticket (because the club would lose too much income?) but they could be used to purchase individual tickets for future games - so when we bring friends we have a way of it not costing. If set up correctly they could be used in the club shop to buy shirts (say a voucher could be no more than 50% of the bill - so the club gets 50% income on the purchase). The only alternative - apart from cash refunds that would cripple the club - is to issue tickets for the first (or last) 4 games of next season which would harm season ticket sales.
Anyone got any ideas of their own, or thoughts to add?

I think that anybody who demands the club pays them back for the tickets shouldn’t be welcome at Orient ever again.
Sometimes in life you’ve just got to suck it up and realise that you have to take a loss due to circumstances which is not really anybodies fault.
As you say, if they had to pay everyone back it would cripple the club.
Personally I see it as a donation to keep the club doing during an extremely difficult time.

If you want to donate the £50 or whatever it is to a bunch of multi-millionaires, then that is of course fine.
But the club should obviously offer it back initially.

Same here. I can't quite get my head around the idea that, with everything that's going on, having paid for 4 matches you can't attend is even a concern.

Maybe because some people haven’t been able to work or earn any money for months?

So you're saying that people who were quite happy to stump up a decent wedge for a leisure activity last summer, can't manage without the £50 now?

If they were earning last year and aren’t earning now, then that would be the case.
Are you saying a bunch of multi millionaire investors can’t afford to refund a few £50s now?

If its like the airlines/air tickets it's likely in consumer law that they have to offer a refund in money. For Mrs NES & I sitting in the Gallery, its around £250 depending whether one uses buy in advance or buy on the day prices. If we were offered vouchers for the shop or pre-match meals in the 1881 Suite instead, I'd take that. Mrs NES likes the new shirt with "MIND" on it.
But let's see what Danny has to say, he'll come up with some inventive way to minimise cash loss I am sure. .

Of course the club should make the offer. It is the decent thing to do.

If only the TV companies took the same view we wouldn't be having to put up with all the cock eyed theories and brain farts that are being come up with in an effort to finish the games.

It makes no difference how rich the owners are. The company is a separate legal entity, maybe look that part up.
What has happened is beyond the control of the club.
Huxley is right above.

You certainly do seem to have an issue with "multi-millionaire" investors. You mentioned it again as recently as, er, yesterday, in the new kit thread.

Jealous and envious spring to mind with Redo. If it was not for those two multi millionaires we would in all probability not have a club right now.

Apart from giving the usual suspects an opportunity to have a go at the owners, what is the point of this thread?
I doubt anyone has actually asked for their money back.

Macklin said at the AGM meeting on youtube the other week that once the season is officially cancelled they will offer refunds to people.
Bear in mind that the EFL and FA have to approve the decision that the clubs voted on yesterday, once thats approved I'm sure the club will announce their refunds plan.

You say that, and publicly people wouldn’t admit it, but I reckon there’s a lot more who will ask than you think.
Sure, they are perfectly within their rights to, but it says a lot about their true feelings for the club when they can’t sacrifice £50 which they’d already spent last summer and wouldn’t have had this year anyway.

They’ve got to offer refunds surely? We’ve paid for something we aren’t getting. The fact some people think that if you dare take your money back you should never return to the club is a despicable attitude, especially when some many are struggling. If it’s putting food on the table for a week because you’ve been laid off, it’s more important than football.
Personally I’d probably let them keep it. Single tickets for next season would be ideal, though as I’m not renewing and just going to select games.
Talking of which, wonder if they’d refund all of my unused tickets dating back to November

The smart people cancelled their direct debit when football stopped anyway

Seeing as we save a lot by buying a season ticket I personally don't think a refund would be expected.

I had paid the deposit on my summer holiday.
Am I entitled to expect that back when I’m told it’s cancelled, or should I just hand it over to Mr Thomas Cook, seeing as I paid it so long ago last summer and not going is actually saving me money?

No one should need to ask, it should be offered.
