Just to slow it down a bit. Grab a girl hold her tight but do not. Repeat do not get a lob on.

Back from self imposed exile for such a great thread.
What a great year 1979 was.
Remember them all so well.
It wasn't really that great. Don't forget that was the year that front bottom Thatcher was elected.
Welcome back btw. Where you bin bro?
Well the music was great.Just had to keep away from the board, that's all.

I could tell yer some tales from the jazz funk scene that year. But, really, you had to be there, man. So I wont.
You must have been popping off down the cheesy High Street Mecca by a punch-up in your Farrah’s, Maxy, judging by most of those tunes. Chris Hill wouldn’t have been seen dead spinning anything like that in the clubs we went to. Surprised you haven’t included Oops Upside Your Head and a vid of soul girls doing the rowing dance on the beer-sticky floor.
Only teasing. There’s some fun numbers in that lot

Ah 1979. The Winter of Discontent. Rubbish building up in the streets, you couldn’t bury the dead. But at least the murder rates dropped as the lorry drivers went on strike.
I saw them perform in Hollywood’s back in the 80’s and they performed Frankie among others, top tune as well back then.

Chris Stewart who ran Horizon radio the best of all the Pirate radios back then

Radio Luxembourg 1979...Used to listen all night on a radio I modified to charge batteries off of the mains via a step down to 6v...Remember the signal kept drifting in and out...Happy days, though.Had left home by then and I was only 15.
