Have you Bought your Season Ticket yet ??

Post by Cheshunto »

I haven’t as yet as I just don’t believe that spectator sports will be possible until a vaccine is developed for this horrendous virus. I watched yesterday’s AGM and whilst interesting, there wasn’t too much news as little is going on.
We seem to be well equipped for streaming, which is great but would a season ticket cover home games via streaming ??
I know the club needs our money now to help cash flow etc and it’s great that around 750 have been sold but would you be happy to part with £300-400 not knowing what you’re buying into ??
Personally I’m hoping that before the end of May we have more clarity and I can confidently re-new my season ticket, I just wondered how other boarders feel.

Done the same, the club need help with no cash coming in. Some people will be able to do it and others less so doesn't make anyone less of of an O's fan if you can't.

Just under 800 renewals so far, if it averages out about £300 a renewal that almost a quarter of a million pounds.

Individual choice of course, but it is understandable that many fans will be apprehensive about tying up cash into a future service that may not be deliverable. Given the economic uncertainties ahead, some people may find that their own personal finances could change rapidly.

It's good if people feel able and confident to support their clubs at this time, because they need it, but nobody should feel pressured into it. Hopefully we'll have a clearer idea soon as to a 'return to normal' plan, but there will remain a lot of unknowns and variables that could affect things either way.

I'm feeling reasonably confident about my own circumstances, but I've still cut all but essential household expenditure and have no plans to change that until I have a better sense of where things are heading.

Pretty much agree with this. I personally want to know how this season is going to pan out before I commit to next.

There's also the issue that if they cancel this season then people will be entitled to part refunds on this years ticket. So some people may need the £60 or whatever that will be some won't. I personally won't ask for it back as at the moment my job is fairly secure but if things aren't eased by the back end of the year then it might be in trouble. So I can't commit to the £300+ not knowing what i'm getting for my money.

Streaming for uk is £ 10 a game, so £ 230 for a season, so how much are the season tickets, plus of course a number of people can watch a streamed game, lessening the need for multiple season tickets

Was intending to by the end of May deadline, but having 2nd thoughts as I don't see there being any live footy for stadium spectators until 2021. We've given to the Crowdfund page and we've confirmed to Danny Macklin we'll do a player kit sponsorship again, so another £1240 for 2 tickets (Full price Gallery) and me now retired may stretch finances at this time as Mrs NES has had her salary reduced. But we'll consider finally in late May and will probably go for them.

At 68 with one of two underlying health issues, I am not sure I should be mixing and sitting alongside large numbers of people. I may have to give up my seat until a vaccine is proved to be effective. I love the O's but its really not worth chancing my health and maybe my life for.

Very sensible ElliotNes, Whats your experience of the Gallery, is it worth the extra money? I'm thinking of moving there in the next year or two.

Not yet - but was thinking about this only yesterday. I noted that in the season ticket card Q&A they will pro-rate refund if matches don't go ahead or if the season is reduced (hope I understood that correctly).

I would accept free streaming in lieu of a refund if the matches are played behind closed doors, but then you have the issue of 3pm kick-offs and domestic "broadcasting"

Would imagine that the 3pm restriction will be lifted, Also that kick offs will be staggered if only to ease pressure on the internet. I read the refund in lieu same ad you, let's hope it won't come to that though.

Really good to be in total agreement with disoriented. I too renewed my ticket and urge everyone, who is able to renew, to do so. Of course some can’t and that does not diminish their loyalty in anyway.

As someone who could possibly be out of a job in a couple of months why would I want to renew with no definite outcome to support a couple of multi millionaires

I hope you don't find yourself out of a job soon, and no-one would criticise you for waiting - but I don't think it's helpful to put it in terms of 'supporting multi millionaires'. I'm fairly sure these multi millionaires are already a fair bit poorer after getting involved with LOFC even without the Coronavirus.

If we all make a commitment now, we ought to be slightly more certain there will be a club to come back to. For me, that's the most important thing.

I have sat in the Gallery, or Legends Lounge as it’s now called, for a couple of seasons and I think it’s worth it but it really depends on your budget. The view is on or near the halfway line and the lounge is quite comfortable with seats, your own bar, free tea/ Coffee at HT and free team sheets just before kick off.
You also get to ‘rub shoulders’ with some of the WAGs, and minor celebrities etc oh and the seats are padded ;)
The price for Legends Lounge Season Tickets are actually increasing a little for next season but still worth it overall in my opinion.

I was going to renew as per normal however I was made redundant in February and so will now wait to see what is going to happen before I part with my money. If I was still employed then yes I would have committed.

I wouldn't normally have a season ticket as I live so far away I cant get to many games. For me, personally I need to wait and see how things pan out (football wise and generally) before committing to any expenditure. But, as in the past, I'll stump up what I can if things with the club go badly wrong (which they haven't yet)

Not renewed yet, but will do so at the end of May.

Of course, not even clear if there are any games to watch yet, but no doubt the club needs the cash. Understand completely the reservations of others who aren't renewing though; all sorts of factors going on..

Yep got to look after yourselves first especially if you have a family. Me and the wife both have jobs that are ok in the short term but if the situation doesn't improve dramatically within the next 6-9 months then we could be trouble.

Haven't bought mine yet because, as a 70 year old (and pal 73) I have no idea when I will be able to attend. I did drop Lindsey an email to explain.

The club have extended the "early bird offer to May 31st so perhaps by then the situation will be clearer.

If they get the season finished behind closed doors I hope there is on line streaming. I would be happy to pay (I suppose ST holders should get it free or discounted, but wouldn't be unhappy if I have to pay).
