I haven't been able to organise any subsequent events owing to continued Ill health in the family. Fortunately that situation appears to be easing. StillSpike has been doing a fantastic job with the Bandoffs but if there is interest in a Javelin competition please register your name on this thread and I will organise it for late next week/early the week after. It is rare that we have a track and field double medallist but I am hopeful that 100m champion Tuffers will lob his extended dart into the ring.

Everyone will start with 60 metres in the first round and I will then throw 4 dice for each competitor, twice. The longest 12 individual throws will go through. Any 4 dice scores under 10 will be deemed a foul throw. The top 12 will qualify for a further 3 throws and then the final 6 for a further 3. Tessa, eat your heart out, venue will again be the Drapers Field, secured at a bargain rate.

a) i8ubutler

I would love to be in this virtual javelin competition, and try to make up for my poor performance in the 100 & 200 mtrs spints

I can take a gnat's eye out from a hundred paces with a Greek Hoplite spear. Hang that golden gong around my neck right now.

I love the sense of personal angst on the 200m mate but it hasn't taken place yet. 🏃‍♂️

Who is going to give out the medals? Tessa or Fatima? And due to social distancing, will they pin them to our chests by throwing a mini-javelin from 6ft away?

If so I'll put the kevlar vest on first. Of course, this is presuming I'll be on the winners podium, which is being too presumptuous as other boarders will tell me, for sure.

OK, I'm in.
When I was about 14 our sports master said throw that javelin Johnko. Never having picked up a javelin I went for a world record breaking throw. Not sure what happened but I remember being strapped up for weeks. Bloody painful.
Can you please throw the dice gently I don't want a reaccurance of the injury.
