Really spilt on something like this. Obviously want to support the club and ensure we have a future but at the same time, i feel like other people and charities could do with my money more. I'm also not particularly comfortable with helping our a group of millionaires with their bills.

If we are really in sh*t then I hope LOFT call a special general meeting to vote to donate the fund. Feels like this is exactly the reason it was being saved for.

Can't help but feel there will be a backlash over this. The club haven't judged this very well.

I’m with Neville (Garry) on this.
The FA/Premier League should put in place a safety net package to protect the WHOLE footballing family with a re-distribution of wealth to support clubs lower down the pyramid. They have the moral duty in all of this, NOT the supporters.

Already having that argument as they're sticking to the line Travis says he didn't need the money. Hmmmmmmm

If they do, then they should seek to gain some sort of tangible stake in the ownership / management of the club. Aside from anything else, that's the basis on which the money was collected in the first place.

I wondered when this would come and Mrs NES and I will be happy to help our club with a small donation after Mrs NES' payday tomorrow.

There is no pressure on anyone to donate, you are no lesser a fan if circumstances mean that it's not something you can do. The club has zero income at the moment so things must be incredibly tight at present.Im lucky to be Ina position to do something so I will. I think when the time is right the club will ask for help to get the stadium ready for when football returns going to need volunteers to assist I imagine sometimes just donating a bit of time is just as important.
I agree with earlier sentiments re the LOFT fund hopefully they can liaise with the club, arrange an egm and some or all of it should be made avaible to the club to help them through what for lower league football is a real crisis.

Sorry not for me give em the loft money if needs be sort of thing it was raised and then held back for.
We're all going to have to pay for all of this via taxes and a VAT hike and I'm more than happy to give a few quid to charity. It's not a never ending pot of money for those of us who have jobs. We'll need what we have when the aforementioned increases take place.

Very good point. The club have pushed back on any fan board position in the past stating tax reasons as the main objection but if they want fan 'bail-out' in a smallish way from the fund, they should concede some ground there imo.

Being on a pension funds are tight for me , I would however be willing to do voluntary work for the club if needed .

TBQH I've already saved hundreds by not going to the match for the last 6 weeks. And while those experiences would have been fun at the time, I wouldn't have had much to show for it, save for a few f'ing memories, some of which would doubtlessly have been anger/exasperation at Fumbleton/FFS Ling. So I'm happy to put in a small fraction of that money to this.

It should be cash for shares only and fan representation on the Board.
Why should fans fund millionaires and their hobby.

Think of all the money being saved not buying beers or burgers & programmes etc at
A game .
Ok they have the sesson ticket money but not gate money , all the lost revenue from
Catering (.even if indirectly ) supporters.club , south stand bar etc .
All eventually finds its way back into the club.

Correct. It would be interesting to see how the club was valued for the purpose of issuing said shares. Right now we may be able to get us a good deal.

Remember when we had a Crowdfunder to help the club in times of crisis. Oh wait... of course it's wrong type of crisis

On the first part as to the state of the club, the messages coming out of the club are, to quote Nigel Travis in the YouTube Q&A the other day, “short-term liquidity, we’re fine”. So I don't think they're in immediate danger of going bust, and the crowdfunder seems to me to be a sensible "can we have some matchday money early to aid cashflow" rather than (as some have translated it) "it's a crisis!".
As for LOFT, the Regeneration Fund and calling an SGM - I commend this article we put out several weeks ago:
http://www.leytonorientfanstrust.com/st ... Chosen=481 - it's a long read setting out chapter and verse, because this subject keeps coming up on a regular basis.

I'm finding the fact that a professional football club is asking the people of this country for money, extremely distasteful.
At a time when there is so much poverty, due to policies of this and previous governments, it leaves a nasty taste in the mouth, that two multi millionaires are basically putting out the begging bowl.
If I had some spare money, I'd give it to a better cause than a football club, that's for sure.
The crisis we are now in due to this pandemic have brought into focus what's really important in our lives, and what isn't, and at a time when thousands of mums and dads and grandparents etc are dying before their time, football clubs are just not important in the scheme of things.
Let the millionaires (or maybe billionaire in Kent Teagues case) finance the football club..... Begging for money isn't a good look at all

Probably decided investing in a lower league club was not for him
