Yep, I caught that. Not surprised as it's been becoming obvious that we'll be dealing with this well into 2021, if not beyond.

No crowds until vaccine I reckon, lots of clubs gonna struggle and some will go to the wall

The mail has run an article.today saying no way will Sky or BT will give up their games to come. However, they maybe open to showing the remainder of the less fancied games on the red button and certainly not on BBC or ITV.

I'm guessing the rights holders will need to be compensated. Sky Sports and BT sports subscriptions will plummet if football is shown via free to air, adding to the reasons for both broadcasters to not want to pay what they are paying for TV rights (unless I guess they keep on paying and the EPL give them an extra year of rights at the end of the agreements for free).

The article hinted at government help, so I'm guessing compensation for the rights holders. Still they cant complain in getting compensation for games they dont have the rights to.

If it were on free to air then in the long run I see the paid tv get an boost as some may want to watch the actual.prosuct after in a paid capacity.

It'll be interesting to see the subscription numbers in the future. I reckon a good number of subscribers who would previously never have parted with Sky Sports and BT may have discovered it isn't so essential after all. I had SS for many years, cancelled it, and seldom miss it now. I'd much rather pay for the Orient streams anyway.

We ditched all of our extra channels a few years back. Once you do it you don't miss them.

I hardly watch any telly anyway, and can watch things on my phone, tablet or laptop if I want to. 'Er Indoors is the only one who does watch telly but she's into the mainstream entertainment stuff, so the main channels are enough.

The teenagers find telly a bizarre concept.

We got rid of all most subscription stuff in Jan. We run Netflix and Prime (There are 7 of us so keeps us happy), use catch up and have a Sky box to watch live TV that doesn't cost anything. Plenty of free trials from Now TV, Prime channels etc to keep us happy. Also downloading the odd unavailable film.We get plenty more than we need and save a fortune.

I'd take anything at this stage. We sat and watched what was happening in China, then Italy and now everybody's lives have been affected in some shape or form. Boris the BS artist is going to have to give something to the people to try and survive as a PM or Government full stop.

Leagues One and Two could be decided by the top eight sides from each division taking part in a mini-tournament to decide who is promoted. None of the plans under discussion would see any teams relegated.

Maybe not the worst of ideas so far.

Also if Southampton were at home to say Newcastle would they travel on the day as they can't stay in a hotel.? Others would be put at risk like the Coach drivers,kit people, physios , doctors, referees and of course ambulance medical cover. You would probably need police as undoubtedly some Away fans will travel in hope if seeing some action through a gate or something.

Too many unknowns so can't see this season being completed.

They’ll have a gander at how it goes in the bundesliga when that starts in 2 or 3 weeks. If it all goes well over there then I reckon we’ll see a similar model over here for the prem and championship. I’m more coming round to the idea that LG’s 1 & 2 will be abandoned.

There must be promotion and relegation some way otherwise it's been an expensive and pointless exercise. Top 8 fight it out is ok but if no relegation then championship will have 27 teams, league one 24 teams and league 2 will have 20. 22 if 2 teams come from the national league although that's uncertain at the minute
