Wouldn’t have happened under an I-Keir government.

on the news this morning there are warehouses with plenty of P.P.E stock
in this country that are loading up EU lorries to send it abroad because
the government will not answer emails from COM telling them that they have this stock available.
my wife had to stop me kicking the TV down the garden.how this is allowed to happen is beyond me.

We are led by donkeys Grey. Hancock, Patel, Jendick, Johnson, Gove - they all need to go now and concede they haven’t got a clue what they are doing.

Yes but I believe China have returned the favour many times over.

It seems obvious to me that sending supplies to China at the time in an attempt to delay the spread of a disease that could become a pandemic was absolutely the right thing to do, the benefit of having extra time to build up our own stocks would far outweigh the harm done by sending a relatively small amount of our stocks to China.
Oh.

British ministers made a political decision not to be involved in an EU procurement scheme to purchase medical equipment, a senior Foreign Office official has told MPs, raising doubts over previous claims that the UK did not take part because of missed emails.
The government came under fire last month when it emerged that the UK had decided not to participate in any of four EU procurement schemes to buy medical equipment in response to the coronavirus crisis.
Last month Downing Street had claimed it failed to take part in the schemes, including one to source life-saving ventilators and another to obtain personal protective equipment (PPE), because “owing to an initial communication problem, the UK did not receive an invitation in time”.
However, on Tuesday the Foreign Office’s permanent under-secretary, Sir Simon McDonald, was asked by the chair of the foreign affairs select committee, Tom Tugendhat, whether there had been policy advice on whether to participate in the EU ventilator scheme.
McDonald replied: “It was a political decision. The UK mission in Brussels briefed ministers about what was available, what was on offer, and the decision is known.”
His remarks appear to blow a hole in the original defence of a “communication confusion”, most prominently made by the Cabinet Office minister Michael Gove.
McDonald had earlier been asked by the Labour MP Chris Bryant: “Why oh why did we not take part in EU ventilator procurement scheme?”
He replied: “The UK declined to participate because we left the European Union on 31 January.”
Bryant replied: “No, we were invited to take part apparently, we missed the emails or forgot the emails.” At this point McDonald insisted that ministers had been fully briefed.
Speaking after the hearing, Bryant said he was shocked by McDonald’s answer, adding: “It beggars belief that they deliberately, intentionally, with forethought and against advice, decided not to take part. And that they trotted out every excuse in the book when they realised they had messed up.”

"VITAL PPE is being shipped from UK warehouses across Europe despite fears the NHS could run out as they tackle the coronavirus outbreak."
That isn't even proper English and doesn't make sense.

Totally agree. Hancock said last Saturday that we are expecting 400,000 gowns from Turkey on Sunday. We are now Wednesday and the plane to pick them up is still sitting at the airport ready to pick them up. SHAME ON YOU. He reckons we will be testing 100,000 a day by the end of April . That figure is currently pie in the sky. Hancock and his so called scientists should be sacked. Again the Germans are streets ahead of us in their actions in saving lives.WHY.? Because common sense prevails over scientific belief.

I think you will find that I pay exactly the right amount of tax. Every year and on the relevant due dates.

I’ve no doubt you pay the correct amount of tax and pay it on time for the amount you declare. It’s just that there is income which I’m sure is not declared and thus no tax paid. That’s how it works in your field isn’t it?

I think they have eventually signed up. They were too focused with Brexit that they dropped the ball.

No. You forget I also have a tax consultancy business and to under declare would get me the jail.
Not that I would anyway because I believe in paying my tax to pay for our public services.
