How are youse getting on with this down the supermarket.

I'm not normally allowed to do it other than for my Foosties of a Friday evening.

However, with Mrs Eva Gold confined to barracks I've had to get on with it.

My first issue was with the shopping list Eva gave me. Just looking at it was like trying to tell me what to do.

For a bit of fun I asked her to rewrite it in the order the items appeared in Morrison's and with only one item per line. To my surprise she did it whilst mumbling something about autism under her breath which I felt was a bit judgemental for a social worker.

Going forward I have asked her to email me the list. So that it can be more neutral because it can be printed off. I have specified Times Roman 11 as the only acceptable font. We shall see how that goes.

We've kept it to only me going out to the shops etc. If we keep that way we hopefully keep the chances of catching it down. So far it's been fine, but boy are there some idiots out there.

Hate it. Having to do it on my own as my partner is at risk.

Ended up spending about 200 quid so I didn’t have to come back for a few weeks but that lasted about 10 days.

Decided to use the small local coop instead of the big Morrison’s and went down there about 5 today and it was shut so had to go to Morrison’s which had next to nothing I needed.

Feel dirty and panicked when I’m in there

Luckily we panic bought before all this kicked off so other than popping to the local convenience store for milk, still haven’t had to go out.

We use OurGroceries app on the phones to keep our shopping lists on. It's a shared list so we can both add items and cross them off. Items are grouped by category (or supermarket section) and you can arrange these in the order that your favoured supermarket it laid out.

I've been out once in the last 3 weeks, luckily got a Tesco delivery about 2 weeks ago, and now the local butcher/farm shop is going to deliver milk and eggs with the meat and veg, so hoping not to have to go out at all from now on. Homebrew still keeping up with demand, although Mrs Spike will need to get some wine soon.

Wish I could get some f*cking bread flour but all the part time "bake to beat the boredom" wannabe Paul Hollywoods are clearing the shelves out of the white stuff all the time !

I went at 6.45 to avoid the queues, but when i got there, there was a big queue. Took me 20 mins to get in, and they had huge gaps in the shelves. No Blackcurrant jam, no Kit-Kat and no i cant believe its not butter light, which i am running very short of

If you know anyone who pays up front for there tesco delivery slots , there are some that become available.

My sister did a shop on moday that arrived today for me on her account .
Yet when i logged in nothing showed as an available
time slot.

Our local Co-op is now pretty well stocked after being cleared out. I managed to get a few more bits of shopping this morning including washing powder, paracetamol and wholemeal bread. The manageress lives in Dagenham and she said that the Asda there had a queue going round the huge car park.

Not at risk - I don't think so, anyaway. We're just trying not to cause any undue pressure on the NHS etc. We were on deliveries before, but now there's no slots to be had on Tesco or anyone. The farm shop is run by a pal who farms the adjoining land to where we live, and he's extending his range to help his customers.

Haven't a clue what's going on with flour. As I said, lot's of people seem to be using baking as an activity. There's always bread in the shops so can't think why people seem to feel the need to cover themselves for bread shortages.

We always used to do one shop a week with the occasional mid week top up(s) for milk or booze or snacks or take away etc We’ve now restricted it to just the one shop, so there’s a bit of added pressure to make sure you don’t miss anything but other than that, it’s been no bother.

It’s really satisfying walking the bags back into the house feeling like you’re in The Walking Dead, knowing you’re done for another week.

I resort to on-line shopping. It is very difficult to get a slot and often items don't turn up. Slots can be 3 weeks apart. My friends get me odd items when they go to Morrisons and I sortie out the corner shop. If empty I dive in there for a quick grab. Now the curious thing is, my mate started work for Ocado in February ( they are soon to deliver for M&S ). Of Friday they were asked for volunteers to take 4 days Annual Leave? I have tried Ocado & if new customer no vacant slots. Curious.

Supermarkets know they can charge as much as they like as people can't shop around at the moment.

Massively stocked up on pasta, rice, frozen veg and some tinned foods about a month back, so we have plenty of supplies. Having to go out about once every 10 days to get fresh meat/fish (which we then freeze) and fresh veg which there still seems to be plenty of other than the odd item missing. Topped up on about £60 worth of stuff yesterday and the only thing I couldn’t get was peppers.

Some places I’ve been in have been keeping things like boxes of eggs and loaves of bread behind the till and limiting them to one per customer, which makes some sense

Coping fine. Got a Coop and a Tesco Metro in walking distance and they seem to be fairly quiet most of the time. Not had to queue yet. Having to change some of the items I'd usually buy but that's not a problem. Do 1 shop a week and, if necessary, will pop into one of the stores for 10 mins to restock milk and bread.
