The finest song ever by the best singer ever the best lyricist ever and the best guitarist ever.
I hope they never reform as they were perfection even though he turned into a fat ol racist. ( His solo stuff is really good but don't tell anyone)
Tough choice between Bowie and Talking Heads but went with the Heads, but may change Mey mind tomorrow. Stop Making Sense is the perfect concert movie.

Bowie by a mile. 2nd place is tough. Very fond of a bit of blues boogie from Canned Heat. The Smiths WERE magnificent but at the end of the day you cant knock a bit of Quo.

[whispers]I actually listen to his solo stuff more than The Smiths. The last two albums (including the covers one) have been fantastic.[/whispers]

I think this is the reason the quo are second actually. The smiths were a great group of their time and my finger was hovering over them and the quo. I saw quo live at Wembley stadium and were superb, but I picked the smiths due to their sheer difference to anything else in their era.

Bowie is in a league of his own.
One of my proudest musical quirks is that I always hated The Smiths . . I couldn't really justify it, but maybe somehow I knew he was loathsome.
