Time for me to step up to the plate. Later this week I will conduct the Boarding Olympics 100m using customary dice. Rules will be published in advance once I make them up but I need 24 self professed speedsters for the heats, semi finals and then the grand final. I will eat a gold chocolate medal in celebration of the winner. Are you game for this? First 23 to sign up with me are in.

When I was 13 I ran 100m at school in 12.8sec and my 200m PB was a few years later when i ran 21.7sec (although i'm guessing the stop watch wasn't that accurate!)

Definitely in. I used to be second in the 100m at school. I could never beat that lanky streak of piss Fergie who trained with the Bellahouston Harriers.

I'm poo poo at running, always have been. I'd like to volunteer to hold the tape at the end, or, failing that, carry the athletes' tracksuits around in those plastic shopping baskets they put behind the blocks.

I was more of a field (javelin & hammer) and middle distance track guy. Like one of those lumbering decathletes you see huffing & puffing at the back in sprints. So maybe with a roll of the dice I could be a 100m superstar. I’m in.

Surely it should be 200 metres as we have to be 2 metres apart.

Encouraging start, thanks. Subject to the success or otherwise of this initial challenge further Olympic events will be held including the 200m, pole vault and javelin. A medal table will be kept in tribute to HMM's prediction league.

Not sure I could still squeeze into my running vest, and I may need two lanes to fit into.

My sports teacher could never understand why I couldn’t run fast as he reckoned I had the build for a sprinter. Perhaps my boarding self will fare better

Id be more of a Javelin thrower but
if numbers are needed im happy to partake.

He certainly is. Having reflected the People's Court has decided he will participate whether he want to or not. Number of places available duly reduced.

stones since my sprinting days

I prefer the 100m hurdles but thinking about it there might be some runners who may 'hit the track' and have to be jumped over (I must remember to sharpen the spikes). I'm in if there are still spaces.
