So what New foods have you been eating ?
Just before lockdown my sister bought me around some
perishables & left a couple of bits of her shopping in my bag.
1 of which was Porridge .
Something i would baulk at eating ususally .
I tried it one morning & blow me down
Fluffy warm goodness .
Im a changed man
Anyone tried some new food stuff ?

It's not a new foodstuff, but I just made some chicken soup with the leftovers from yesterday's roast, and can confirm that it was f*cking fantastic. It'd probably cure the Covid so it also made me feel quite safe. Got enough for the next few days lunches.

Just about to do the same with yesterdays chicken leftovers but with a twist.
Mrs Gold is currently cooking a ham in ginger beer and stock and I'm going to use that for my chicken soup. Crazy I know.

Granola, Greek yogurt, frozen fruits such as strawberries and raspberries etc. Put in the fridge eat the next morning, I can’t reccomend it highly enough. Plus it’s healthy.

My mum used to do similar to that thor,
But with un frozen fruit
But you need to leave it in the fridge
2 or 3 days minimum
for it to sweeten & start to ferment.

The results are in and the Ginger Beer Chicken soup with Rice is a winner. My greedy pig missus is on her second bowl.

This is my breakfast pretty much every day. Prefer to make it the morning I have it, defrosting the berries in the microwave first, as I find the toasted granola goes a bit limp

I think Kyle Walker had the same problem this week.

I had to resort to the “emergency” carton of UHT milk at the weekend. Usually, that sits in the cupboard over winter in case we get snowed in and chucked in the spring when it’s past the use by date. Barely acceptable substitute for fresh.
Off for a supermarket queue later this morning to re-stock essentials (more beer & wine!) and non-perishables. Our perishables - including meat & veg - mostly comes from a local farm shop.

Having to resort to bad old ways as unable to find our vegan staples like chickpeas and jack fruit anywhere. Same goes with flour and yeast, so buying bread again rather than making at home.
