Your Local Streets

Post by Cheshunto »

I went for for my daily exercise this morning ie a walk, from my house around the nearby streets and I must say that the “Stay Home” message seems to be working in my area anyway.
Very few people walking at all, just the odd Dog Walker and a small well spaced queue outside our local Tesco.
I just wondered if the Stay Home message is being obeyed where you live ??

Pretty much everyone taking the instructions here as well.

Only groups who seem to be ignoring it are the teenage herberts and men in vans, both of whom seem to be immune to the virus.

In the main road near to where I live in Barnet it's very eerie. Hardly any traffic or people walking about.

I was taking my excercise walking along the back road but it's got a bit busy.

So I've gone off road and weave my way around the golf course ending up at the dam for a rest and then back to base.

Today I saw a Spaniel chase two geeses across the golfie. More later I'm sure.

I live in South Woodford and it is very quiet where I am, just a few people lining up to go into the Co-op. I went for a walk round some back roads and saw only one other person. People do seem to be taking notice thankfully.

Very quiet in North Grays. Over the park yoofs playing football. Travellers whizzing around on their quad bikes annoying everybody, displaying their immunity from lawn order.

Witham pretty dead, even the supermarkets aren't that busy. Aint been for a week but no queuing outside.

Friday seemed to be busy in the parks and by the pond but generally see about 10 people on a 20 minute walk.

Very Quiet down here in Rayleigh today, a lot better compared to the beginning of the week.
The message is finally sinking in.
My cousin lives in Spain & he said anything caught on the streets without a legitimate reason is fined €600 on the spot, a bit different from £60 over here. Their police also carry guns so that's why pictures show all over Spain the streets are deserted.

Here in Thornton Heath it’s pretty quiet too. We’re south-west of Crystal Palace and there’s a good selection of scummy locals ( aka the Thornton Heathens) but seeing as there’s nowhere to actually go, most people are indoors. I go for a run every second day and have been out on my bike for an hour or so each day. I usually cycle 26 miles a day on my commute but that’s all gone now so I have to do something.

I have to admit I’m getting really bored already. My wife is working from home and seeing as we have a small apartment it means I have to be out of her way when she’s working and on a call to a patient due to patient confidentiality. It’s a bloody pain, I have to stay in the bedroom or go out to the garage or basement. 3 months of this is going to do my head in :(
