Orient 0 v 1 Arsenal, 18 March 1972
FA Cup Quarter-final at Brisbane Road
Attendance: 31,768
Alan Ball scored a 49th minute winner for the Gunners. Orient hit the woodwork three times!
Orient had previously beaten Chelsea 3-2 at home in the 5th round, Leicester City 2-0 away in the 4th round. Happy Days!

I was there and can confirm Goddard was fouled.

Yep, Blatent foul on Goddard for the goal (Ray Kennedy I think) , Arsenal certainly lived up to their lucky tag that afternoon.

18 seconds in and this shows Peter Allen’s shot hitting the post. As previously said one of three times we hit the woodwork in the first half.

Thank you for the link.

Some amazing footage there. Football was way more exciting then I feel...could be due to the age I was watching the games at and my memory and perhaps false recollection playing tricks but I definitely prefer watching old re-runs of football on You Tube from that period than football today
