Last week I received an email from the FA which said that the advice from government is to carry on with grassroots football. How long now before that advice changes? Bearing in mind the professional game was put in to storage after that was received?
The league issued an email to say that whilst the government says to play then that is what we shall do.
Interesting times ahead this coming week.

Re: Grassroots Football
Some kids played today, but the noises being made is that the season ends today. My son is gutted as he has a cup final on Thursday (or not as the case seems to be).

It will be a shame, but at least I will not have to listen to idiots like I had to today. When my team went one nil up the manager really let rip on his defender for getting turned inside out and kept on ripping in to him until he started crying. Absolutely shocking behaviour, but which is all too common unfortunately. This is U11 kids. Shocking.

Re: Grassroots Football
My boy is an U18. As they get older (U15 onwards) it gets even worse as the boys think they are men and the coaches think they can handle it a bit more. The end result is not tears, it tends to be confrontations. Last week the manager got sent off and he tried playing the safeguarding card as he was the only parent registered to look after them. The ref abandoned the game, because of this and the fact he was starting to feel intimidated by the kids. This is an Isthmian league side I'm talking about as well....Thor wrote: ↑Sun Mar 15, 2020 8:00 pm It will be a shame, but at least I will not have to listen to idiots like I had to today. Re: Grassroots Football
It’s madness. I had to intervene last week and had to ask a manager arguing with the ref on the pitch, the linesman swearing at the ref and remind them that these are children and their language and behaviour was not of the required standard. The ref sent the manager off and away from the pitch, the linesman apologied to me for swearing at the ref, but refused to run the line. After the game the manager approached me and apologied for his behaviour and said he would deal with his linesman. Again U11.
