Orient Form Guide

Post by Thor »

I’ve looked at the stats on soccer stats and this is the result of that.

All games played.

Last 6 we are in 5th position with 11 points
Last 8 we are in 7th position with 14 points
Last 10 we are in 10th position with 15 points
Last 12 we are in 14th position with 16 points

Home Record

Last 4 we are in 10th position with 8 points
Last 8 we are in 15th position with 13 points

Away Record

Last 4 we are in 16th position with 3 points
Last 8 we are in 13th position with 8 points

Point per Game over the last 8 games is 1.75 verses 1.17 overall games played.

We are on an upward curve at present and our dreadful home form and decent away form seem to have reversed. Our points per game is improving nicely although as you all know 2 points a game is promotion so we still have work to do. However, if we were able to maintain our current form over a season it would be good enough to put us 6th in the table which is where Kent probably sees us next season as per his last message. With a bit more work there is no reason not to hit a higher level and better consistency.

Thank you Professor Thorenstein for bravely grappling with the numbers and presenting a persuasive analysis of why we will finish 14th

Current form analysis needs to factor in opponents. Recent games have largely been against poor, struggling sides so an upturn is expected. Add to that some very fortunate goals contributing to scrapping a win.

Let’s get excited when we see an upturn playing stronger sides. Until then let’s just be happy we have done enough to avoid relegation.

Until then I won’t get too excited about nicking wins against crap teams. Just grateful.
