Great midfielder for the O's.
As a youngster the midfield of Lucas, Sid Bishop and Cyril Lea seemed to play just about every single match.
RIP Mal.
Genuine legend

One of my coaches at Ilford Cricket School and probably my no.1 schoolboy hero as I was a budding leg spinner. He taught me to bowl the googly. I'm gutted.

As well as his leg spinning feats, he once held the record for the fastest first-class century, albeit made against "joke" bowling. But he held that record for a good few years.

HIs biography is a fascinating insight into 60's and early 70's cricket.

RIP Hobbsy, we won't see the like of you again.

What the same Peter Bennett that played for us about fifty years ago? If so, he was a real unsung hero and a genuine Orient man. RIP

Peter Bennett - a great player, a bit of an unsung hero. Always gave 100% IMO. Solid in the defence/midfield. RIP Peter.

Used to wince at some of the tackles he made.
Crunched a few players over the years & never
bottled out.

R.i.p Peter Bennett

An all time favourite of mine. So versatile and as said elsewhere never gave less than 100% anytime he was in an O’s shirt. RIP “Les” Bennett and thanks for the memories.

Zahra Maeve ******, my first granddaughter, born to my son Joe (named for the great Joe Mayo) and his partner Yas on April 1st. She’s got her first Orient baby outfit and is destined for a lifetime of mostly disappointment. Welcome to your Orient family, Zahra.
