Most successful dribbles LEAGUE TWO:

111 - James Brophy
104 - Danny Mayor
92 - Randell Williams
89 - Perry Ng
87 - Korey O'Keefe
87 - Nathan Thomas
86 - Abo Eisa
85 - Bez Lubala
74 - Ebou Adams
71 - Alex Gilliead

If his crossing was better I think he could have played on a higher level.

Incredible dribbler, needs to improve his final ball/shooting.

The left back position really needs to be sorted out because we need him further up the field .

See his goals and assist stats and get back to us. He dribbles round and round in circles. Not a fan.

I am a fan. Do not like percentage football or hoof ball. Liked watching England when it was obvious we were not that great, but we could produce a Hoddle or a Le Tissier to produce some artistry. Some say they should have been given more appearances. Goodness knows the Os are not always a good watch at the moment.

Agree. Nothing much more exciting on a football pitch than watching a good winger who can go past his fullback and then put a good cross in to the awaiting forwards. If Brophy could only improve on his final ball, then he would be a really good player.

People keep going on about "final ball" but he's in the top 5 of the squad for pass completion (crossing included) at 76%. It's interesting how opinions become fact so quickly without being looked into...

When watching, in reality it seems not so effective part of his game.

I like Brophy, he is the only one who can get us up the pitch quickly, the problem for me, is the rest, apart from Ruel, when he plays, barely keep up with him. So probably needs to play further forward, in my opinion. Also, of late, think his final ball is getting better.

To be effective with his crosses he has to play more as an orthodox winger, surely? A lot of his game is taken up as he goes rampaging across field and into the middle, where he either gets a free kick or gets blocked out.

His final ball and decision making is absolutely an issue, or has been to date.

I agree with others that it’s improving, though. Long may that continue.

Very true, hardly worth him putting a cross in when there is no one to get onto it !!
Funny how fans like yourself notice such basic flaws in our tactics like you have pointed out, yet the coaches and manager seem oblivious to the most obvious things like this. Yes agree, apart from Ruel, our Forward play is rather toothless and pedestrian.

Milano wrote: ↑Fri Feb 21, 2020 3:19 pm I don't buy this 'final ball' problem although he usually has to do it at full speed. It's the static forwards in the middle is where the problems lay, assuming anyone is there at all. Cheltenham's winner is the way to do it, arrive late and at speed. When our biguns go forward for a free kick/corner, you just know they won't get a chance just standing there hoping for a free header. Get Kevin Lisbie in for a few weeks at the training ground to show how it's done.
This final ball and his decision making generally have absolutely been his downfall. That's why a player of his ability had to drop down to non-league to get a game. But as already said, it's definitely improving of late, so I'm sure it's something that is being actively worked on.

When our big guns went forward for a free kick/corner last season, they scored bundles.

The mans got the potential to be move all the way to the top. But he can’t cross a ball to save his life and his more one footed then a one legged man in a bum kicking contest.

Long John Silver’s manager said the same thing.
