If anyone can get a result from seemingly nothing, then it's Revs...

Yes, he has very little chance of saving them . Saying that , teams have come back from the brink before so who knows.

If he saves them from relegation, he should get manager of the season!

Agreed. Could be the move of the season by Borough.

If he can keep Stevenage up I'm sure his next trick will be to turn water into wine.

He'll do a better job than that Muppet Westley. Too late to save them probably but stranger things have happened. Reckon he'll have the respect of the players but they do look a poor side generally, whatever happens I think they will improve under Revs and I wish him every success despite Wembley.

Thoughts drift back to Newport sacking Westley and an “unknown” coach taking over to steer them to unexpected safety. That coach, Mike Flynn, is still there and they remain competitive at Div 4 level.

Ah, so appointing inexperienced person for them = 'could be move of the season'
Orient appoint experienced coach =

Yes, Revs is a bit past it now. But heh, we've got our Brophs and Dayts, anyway.

After May 25 2014 I'd put nothing past Alex's abilities.

See he has asked Russell Slade to help. Not a bad shout in my view.

Ah, yes, that goal Nessy
I wish Stevenage well, as they’re local for me so an easy away game, but I really can’t see Alex keeping them up.
Have just read that he’s asked Russell Slade for help, now that may give them a chance.

Extremely good move by Revell. I wish we had have got Russell back here.

I think they will do well: pretty low bar. Not that much lower than ours...

Macclesfield are 7 points ahead with a game in hand, home to Plymouth. If they do get the other 4 points deducted because of the original game being called off then Stevenage gave a chance of survival

Stevenage could recruit westley, a box of revels and Noddy from Slade, they will still finish below us, they are still crap
But at least they are changing things and are having a go, and fighting with new energy and making teams above concerned. A new manager may give them that extra bounce especially when Russ gets going will have a clear formation direction focus and unity
In the meantime their are other teams who keep looking over their shoulder listening to the same rhetoric and spin every week, with a manager who has about as much command and respect as a chocolate teapot

It would be just typical, after he beat us virtually on his own at Wembley to then send us down by saving Stevenage on the last day of the season.
We should have never got rid of him, we should have kept him here where he couldn't play against us (or manage a team playing against us). We'd probably be in the Premier League now if we had.

We wont go down this season. We should practice for next season by trying to avoid being in the bottom two this season.

Premier League?
I admire your optimism.

Hired a Mr Russell Slade as an advisor...
If only we'd have hired an experienced manager to aide our rookie...
