Absolutely non existent today, was slow, passing was poor and very negative, really don’t know what he offers.

It is when you put it like that haha, but he goes missing time and time again, I can’t remember one positive contribution from today.

Re: Josh Wright
Yes, it is hard to believe, but today he just wasn't worth his wages, he does appear to be a poor player.

Re: Josh Wright
Yes wasn’t either, him and Ruel linked up really well at the start of the first half then it went to pot. Still not sure what position any of the forward players were actually playing today. I still think 4-4-2 with wilko and Ruel upfront would be best, but what do we know hey!!

Re: Josh Wright
Wasn't impressed with his lack of commitment or work rate. Unless the ball went perfectly to his feet he stands there moaning and unwilling to chase down a loose ball. Nice touches and flicks when it does come to him but that's the definition of a luxury player if I ever saw one.
As for Wright, hasn't looked effective since Embleton pushed him further back rather than letting him charge into the box like earlier in the season when he was scoring from open play. Didn't look at the races today, has he been out partying the night before a game again?

What has Cleverley ever done to deserve getting dragged into this?

Re: Josh Wright
Perhaps when we reach a safe target of points the manager should look at playing some of the youngsters and drop Wright and Clay. Sadly both are contracted for another year. Our midfield has been lacking for the last 2years . Cisse looks the part but is likely to stay in league 1 next season. Adams also did a good job but decided to go elsewear.

Re: Josh Wright
That would mean either clay or Wright being dropped as Cisse is nailed on to start. Clay played well yesterday to be fair and he does do a lot of unseen work which does benefit the team. Wright as poor as he was will not be dropped so the shape won’t be changed from what it is right now.Writtlered wrote: ↑Sat Feb 08, 2020 7:57 pmYes wasn’t either, him and Ruel linked up really well at the start of the first half then it went to pot. Cisse is a leader of men. Defending a corner I was watching who was organising and it was Cisse and not the captain wright. In fact I did not see Wright organise anything or encourage anyone come to think of it through the whole match. Why is Wright captain?

Re: Josh Wright
Cisse even had to tell Wright to go out and shut the short corners down multiple times cos he had switched off.

Re: Josh Wright
It’s embarrassing really as it’s the captains role to be the leader on the pitch and to ensure the managers game plan is executed by the players, his role is to make sure people follow it and lead them through the game.
I’m not sure he could lead his dog for a walk to be honest.

He gets all the boys into Sugar Hut on a Saturday night without queueing up, so it’s not all bad.

Re: Josh Wright
Think it says more about the service the strikers are getting, and therefore the tactics we set up with. I don’t think either Angol or Wilkinson are inherently poor finishers but we lack so much creativity to get them the ball in good areas.

Re: Josh Wright
He seems to trip up over the ball a lot. His balance when receiving the ball seems all wrong.
Clay is offering lot more than Wright at the moment. Wright just doesn't impact the game.
