The Premier League has struck an astronomical deal for TV rights in The Nordic countries. The contract with NENT starts in 2022 and is £2bn over 6 years. The size of fee led to the league signing up for 6 rather than usual 3 years. Would represent 1/4 of all current overseas income!
Madness, I know!

Pah! Just means each club earns enough for an extra overseas player per year.
Or 15 years of Orient's breakeven costs.

My point was that 1/4 of the income comes from the The Nordic countries.

Bergen as a comparison what is the value of the local leagues in those 4 countries currently being sold for? Also do viewers pay on a match by match basis (as the article below says its streaming) or is it a set monthly fee like it is here on sky?
Heres the news article that Bergen has referred to.

Don`t know the answer to the first question, but you pay monthly about £ 50 for the streaming service (TV2 Sumo). It hugely popular and I believe they have 150 000 subscribers in Norway alone.
Live games from England on Norwegian TV started in 1969. For most people over here watching (TV) football from England is an integral part of their weekend. That`s why this is a big story.

More like 286 years if Macklin’s 7mm pa breakeven turnover figure is to be believed (I reckon that sounds high unless our cost base has almost doubled since Hearn’s last year, but what do I know).

I meant each club earns that much extra p.a.

Any increase in the income will mostly be swallowed up by the players and their agents, it would be interesting to know how many players are being paid a million or more per season.

Norway needs to get a grip. And develop its own culture and sporting pursuits.
If its not the USA screwing up the world its England.

According to the global sports survey and published via a report in the guardian (link below) the ave is now £3m per season. Let that sink in.
