Has just outed himself on this morning that he is in fact gay. Brave decision for him and especially to do it on the medium he presents on. Really shocked and surprised by this.
Good luck Phil on your journey.

Shame he didn’t tell his wife and kids who have been living a lie for 20 years.

No wonder Gordon the Gopher ended up in rehab.

Tbf Beradogs that's being a bit simplistic about it.
He's made his preference known publicly, obviously his family would have been aware of his orientation before his announcement.
It wouldn't affect his love for his children would it, nor I suspect a love for his wife.
Personally couldn't give a monkeys what his preference is. I think the public should judge him on his presenting skills alone.
You only get one go at life, and you have to be honest with yourself and not live a lie, perhaps Scofield feels better having outed himself.
Either way it won't affect any of our lives will it!

His wife knew about it, he also said that when interviewing guests he felt that they were brave saying what they were saying whilst holding it in himself. The man had tears in his eyes whilst holly read out his statement. Seemed very upset and possibly relieved that it is now out in the open, he wasn’t forced to do it, i.e. a paper was going to say it, he just felt it was the right time for him and his family.
Yes I do beleive he’s a good presenter as well.

Actually it’s pretty clear that he told them months ago and gained massive amounts of strength and support from them and his wider family. Sexuality is sometimes a fluid thing that changes over time. Perhaps try being less judgemental in future?

Surely Philip is more like Bi-Sexual or as the modern saying goes ''Gender Fluid''
Anyway, it is his own business and as long as his family are all ok with it, then let him live his life as he so wishes.

We need a Board schooling session about sexualities and bodies etc. I'm nominating PW to sort this, it could be his Admin legacy.

Well explain why they are not the same ?
Surely if you are an out an out gay man, your preference would be purely towards other men and you would be unable to engage in any relationship with a woman other than a purely platonic one. In Philips case he has married a woman, seemed to be a happy relationship and he was sufficiently sexually attracted to the woman he married that he was able to have 2 children with her. So would seems to me that he may well be able to engage in relationships with both men and women so in that case, surely bi-sexual or gender fluid. It gets complicated, what with people wishing to change sex etc, there are as many types and spectrum's of peoples own personal sexuality as there are colours of the rainbow, near impossible to place any one person in any particular sexual category.

bi sexual is nothing to do with being gender fluid.
Thats like saying a footballer and a table tennis player are the same thing.

Actually surprised by how surprised people are about this.
I just hope Mr Schofield hasn't come out to prevent someone else spilling the beans, and that he has done it for entirely the right reasons

I don't know why everyone is so surprised. I've thought it for years and as my daughter has a gaydar she realised it as well. Unlike Chief Crazy Horse, I like him. I think he is funny and handles situations very well and I agree with C.F.

Don't start playing the victim card.
Sexuality and Gender are not the same thing
You have repeatedly posted on here something that is simply not correct. Don't be surprised if people point out what you have said is not correct. That is correcting an untruth, not trying to pick an argument.
