Arsenal declared the crowd as 59,361, but that included everyone who paid, including season ticket holders, who did not take up their seats. There were large number of empty seats.

Did anyone watch our home match v Birmingham on 2nd May 1972? The official attendance was 33,363 but there were 35,000 at least in the ground.

I was there. That was the largest crowd I have been part of at Brisbane Road. Thankfully I had a seat.

They used to fiddle the figures regularly in those days.

I was at the Birmingham game, officially 33,383 but it was packed everywhere, people up floodlight pylons, on top of tea huts! I was in the North Terrace, was there by six o clock, it was rammed all round the ground. The Villa game was given as 29,766 wasn't nowhere as bad.

I was at the Arsenal match, along with another 8,000 Orient "fans", a good proportion of whom had apparently never been to see us before in their lives

Hundreds of Millwall fans battered down the gates at the north end of Brisbane Road …. anyone remember that?

I was standing on the south terrace - as a shorter than average 10 year old I hardly saw a thing. Vividly remember scuttling down the back of the terrace into the bushes when there was a bomb alert and then explosion. Never a dull moment in the 70s...

The Birmingham game really kicked off about a hour before the game, thousands of Birmingham fans were in the west side got chased out attacted by by millwall, they wanted orient to win to go up so millwall would go up,millwall and orient and millwall were together in the westside after that, birmingham scored and then kicked off behind the goals it made the Chelsea games look tame.

Me, I was at all the games mentioned so far, I was swept into the ground when the North End gates collapsed due to people climbing all over them.
What was the attendance for the Man U v O's league 2 game, was at that as well

As for home attendance, probably when Stoke visited in 1978. No idea how many where there but a lot as Stoke were relegated a couple of seasons before and a pretty big club. Weird thing is I did remember the Pink Panther being on the cover of the programme for some reason,
