Does the goal settle us down comment

Ross thinks that maybe the Northampton goal settled us down mentally, leading us to have a good performance in the second half that was unrecognisable to the dire first half. No Ross, the goal forced you to put on our attack minded players and surprise , surprise we started attacking. That is what settled us down .

First half - TWO forwards - wilkinson and Harold isolated .. (Brophy stuck in no mans land not knowing when to defend or attack)

Second half - FIVE attack minded players ...Wilkinson, Soitrou, JMD, Dayton, Brophy all having a go.

Is there any surprise that we started playing attacking football that was entertaining ?

I'm not an expert but if i was an opposing manager i wouldn't want Brophy running at my defenders. I would not want JMD putting in crosses. I wouldn't want Soitrou sniffing around the penalty area.

Will Ross ever recognise that attack is the best form of defence. Will Ross ever start with brophy on the left wing , JMD on the right and two forwards in the middle? Does Ross merely aim to stay in the game until half time with his line -up as its clearly not working. Surely he could see the difference when our forwards were on. This forced Northampton back

Lets be bold Ross on Saturday . Admirable draw but lets learn from the second half and have a line up and formation that threatens teams as opposed to a line up that is scared of the threat. 442 !!!!!

Maybe we can just let Newport score from kick off on Saturday so we have a decent first half.

The sort of comment that screams that the club has completely the wrong culture and have very obvious blind spots.

I get the distinct impression that Embleton just doesn't know what to say for the best.
Sounds like he's making things up as he goes along.

How many formations have we had? How many players have we used? How many of them have been played out of position?

He doesn’t know who his best team is, nor how to deploy the. With the correct tactics and gameplay.

To be fair he sorted it out in the last game, now please, please try and start like that next game. I’ve got us down for a win so it would be good to “have a proper go”

The problem is simple. It’s our midfield.

Yes it is and I am personally perplexed that a striker seems to be the next incoming player when we are screaming out for a quality and I mean quality midfielder. A striker can complement that player, but the midfielder is and has to be the priority.

It seems the fans are clear about this need, it’s a shame others in the club can’t see that.

Wouldn't the club think they have solved that with the signing of Cisse?

I'd like another midfielder, but I don't think it's gonna happen.

Ross hinted at moves falling through, so it probably isn't for the want of trying. But we are 24 days into the transfer window now, we have needed reinforcements in various positions from November (ie full back cos the rest are injured, replacement for Alabi), and supposedly 10 people for each position on the shortlists.

Maybe despite paying above average for the League we are just not attractive to players at present.

That won’t happen as it would expose the management to their own shortcomings. Plus secondly it says to the players you can dictate what we do.

He just hasn't got a scooby. Look at his track record. Look at the performances this season. It ain't rocket science. Folk that hero-worship an over-promoted ballboy need to give their head a wobble.

And I feel rotten saying that, as I'm sure he's a sound lad and a true Orient fan. But that's the problem with being over-promoted, it damages your reputation. The sooner he is out the firing line the sooner we can all be pals again.
