Strange I seem to remember four or five tower blocks in Oliver close which where all knocked down for new housing,could we class this new planning as retro ?

Obviously the H.A.T.S. scheme they had in Leyton wasn’t paying out enough

The only difference seems to be they are not as tall the Oliver close blocks had twenty floors.

I had some friends that lived in one strangely enough one on the 17th and 18th and 20th fantastic views but a bit hairy when the wind blew as you could see the water in the WC moving about.

I live on the 8th floor of a 20 storey tower block , ok we get the odd person drilling and the occasional plumbing problem but it's ok with no crime in the block ( 24 hour concierge ) it's a quiet life ........apart frop the two people throwing themselves to their death from higher up in the past

I went to the ‘breakfast event ‘ that Kent Teague hosted at the Lion and Key before the Hartlepool game.
Kent sat with us and was talking about this being built and how the club were hoping to gain many supporters from residents living right opposite the ground.
Mind you, the odd home win might attract some, but not with the current form.

I stopped reading that link after that the billet points. The council are just building or are allowing building just about everywhere and anywhere within the borough. They are not thinking about schools, doctors, roads, pollution, overcrowding or afforadability. It’s seems like it’s “there’s a space build on it now”

On top of that local services will struggle to accommodate more people, the roads are heaving already, mid afternoon it took me 35 mins to go from James Street to Church Road, that’s ridiculous. Two years ago that was a 5 min trip and it’s getting worse. Pollution is off the scale or at least I’m told it is and it’s no wonder as all the cars are forced down a few main roads when trying to get around the borough. It’s crazy.

This is happening everywhere. Where I live every spare bit of land on the edge of town is being built on. Problem is, all the houses are 15 minutes' walk from the town centre, so mummy will have to load little Joffrey into the car every time they want to visit the doctor, Tesco or have their tattoos done. It's a medieval town centre which won't be able to cope.

So don’t blame people who have bought cars etc it’s all the councils fault
They tried to do something by building the M11 link Rd unfortunately people still use Grove Green Rd etc as a shortcut
