..the supporters of Grimsby Town.

They brought some life to an average game and also managed to get us up on our feet as well.

Good luck to them for the rest of the season.

Fantastic following from Grimsby, especially as I thought their team were one of the poorest seen in E10 this season.
However it must give the team a massive lift seeing that following.

The fans certainly show that they want to back the team as they climb the league. Good fans best seen down brisbane road this season.

Hi everyone,

London based Grimsby fan here.

Had a great time yesterday visiting Brisbane Road - thanks for being great hosts - had some fantastic conversations in the pubs before/after the game.
I thought your team were unlucky. They were the better team overall and played much better football, and kept the ball better. Your left winger put in some superb crosses. Very pleased with a point, but gutted to let in such a late goal.

With regards to the away support, there was definitely Holloway-effect yesterday, but in general Grimsby do take quite a lot of fans away - I think we usually take 800+. The week before there were 1,800 or so at Mansfield. Earlier this year were took about 6,000 to Chelsea. The away support is something the Grimsby fans are quite proud of.

Anyway, good luck with the rest of the season - you've got some pretty decent players there.

Any of you manage to catch a fish yesterday?
There’s a few old trouts on here that could do with a day trip

Great fan support, but I was also impressed with the way in which they've greeted Holloway as a manager. Greeting him like a messiah. I couldn't see Orient fans doing that even if we had just had Jurgen Klopp appointed.

BOL to the fish.

Ian Holloway has played a blinder since he has arrived at Grimsby - just whipped up enthusiasm in an area that is pretty depressed at the best of times. There is a lot of latent support for the club but it has been pretty grim pickings recently. We know we are not a massive club, but people do at least want to see some decent attacking football. A long way to go, but there is at least optimisim for the first time in years.

We had 6 years in the conference (you guys did SOOOOO well to get out of that hell-hole at the first attempt) and once we got promoted again it felt like a new chapter. These last 2 years are more of a slog.

So, yes, a lot of the fans are very happy we just have someone who shows a bit of drive and passion but also talent.

Basically clubs like Orient, Grimsby etc - we need all the good news we can get because it can be a bit gruelling at times. Always have big respect for people in London who support the smaller teams - shows true dedication.

went into the tech pub yesterday and had great chats with the mariners fans - what memories

In 1967 I was a young boy and worked at the os giving out programmes to the fans as they entered the ground. They were small white pocket size programmes.

I was a member of the os junior club and was asked if I would like to do this job - I jumped at the chance and was even given an official pass - still got it

Anyway in december 1967 my first day doing the job was against grimsby and we won 1-0 goal scored at the coronation gardens end, cannot remember who scored

Chatted yesterday to a couple of Grimsby fans who were at that game - I still cannot believe it

What memories , what emotion, thats what supporting the os is all about

funny because sometimes I cannot remember what I done yesterday and yet 52 years ago I can remember if that was yesterday
up the os
