I see that brandon godship has scored a few goals for them but sol is playing the man on the wing, when he is a forward with loads of goals behind him 107 games 77 goals for weymouth, yes i know its a sh*t league but you still have to put the ball in the net i would have live it if he would have signed for us

The away end is now almost completely submerged in flats (Weston Homes): sound familiar?

Can see them having to leave Roots Hall, with effectively nowhere to go.
Have spoken to a few of their fans, and those aren't keen on the originally much-vaunted new stadium idea. It being some distance from a station or proper civilisation. Would smack a bit of Col U's aberration, I think they feel.

That's been the plan for donkeys' years - Roots Hall was sold to Sainsbury's over a decade ago, with the idea that Sainsbury's would build a massive supermarket on the site and that the proceeds would be used to help pay for their planned new stadium at Fossett's Farm. Except that loan advances of the sale price were used instead to prop up the club (in particular paying HMRC at various points over the years), and then the world of supermarket retail changed and Sainsbury's cooled on building a new supermarket there (plus there were all sorts of associated issues, such as a nearby college site and a couple of pizza places refusing to sell).

It looks like Sainsbury's have now had their loans paid up, by whom not known, and the plan is to build flats on Roots Hall instead.

Meanwhile the whole Fossett's Farm development (stadium, retail park, cinema etc.) has been stuck in planning hell for nearly 3 years, as the council probably has big concerns about the impact on the traffic in the area and the retail impact in the town centre. I drive past that area several times a week, and it's a busy enough road as it is - I can well imagine it ending gridlocked on match days.

Ron is on talksport now and he says “the money is with our solicitors and the players (7 of them) will be paid today, I, meeting them at 2pm and that will be transferred and hopefully they receive the money before I sit down with them”

So why would money be with solicitors? Why do the solicitors have the cash, where has that money come from? PFA?

The stewards will be paid this month if any was owed from last month in a dual payment.

He will now sign some players, where is that cash coming from?

He’s now said the cash is from his own pocket, again why would he give it to solicitors to give it to the players and or club?

He knows nothing about players striking and until Jimmtold him he said it’s the first time he’s heard it.

All sounds fishy to me.

They have identified 5 players they want with three now solid players ready to be signed, a centre back, a centre midfielder and a centre forward. He also said a keeper is another one, but nothing concrete there yet, he never said what the 5th player was.

Another defeat tonight and now fourteen points behind the fourth from bottom team, things are not looking good at Roots Hall.
