Genuine question. What has smily smurf

Done to deserve the job of Leyton Orient manager? It’s one of the most baffling decisions I have ever seen. His results have been pretty awful. He has never played professional football. He is very young (perhaps that’s a positive, I mean, he is young so he can only get better right?). He doesn’t have great tactical awareness or if he has he has been saving it for a cold winters night in Morecambe. The criteria to get the job seems to be a) he smiles a lot and is a nice bloke and b) he is the continuity candidate. a) so what. b) continuity of what? I don’t want to sound harsh but JE got us promoted and JE has gone.
Can any of the more bullish boarders explain this decision as I don’t want to sound like a moaning Minnie. It just doesn’t make sense on any level.

It's a financial decision in my opinion, we can't afford a new manager let alone pay up a dof and 3 coaches. As I say that's purely in my opinion but it's the only way I can make rational sense of the decision.

If the decision has wound up Berodogs then it's a great move imo.

It ain't gonna be financial, is it? Travis said he was on an above average League Two manager salary.

It seems that before Fletcher got the job, a lot of the more established guys did not apply or were ruled out. Derek Adams got a bad reference.
After Fletcher was sacked, in the Q&A Ling said we were not looking for other managers and the same process did not get re-opened.

So maybe the choice was between Ross and a load of other inexperienced Fletcher-type coaches. If that was it, I would rather go for Ross. One, because he already knows the team and has gotten sufficient results to avoid the drop (not very ambitious, but that is the aim now).

Secondly, it is too risky to have another Fletcher happening where a bloke is nice in the interview but then falls out with everyone. For it to happen twice in a season might raise some real question marks among prospective managers about the management. Best to get the season done and recruit again if Ross hasn't got the results.

We didn’t speak to anyone else, there were no other coaches interviewed or considered. I was told that people were calling in for the role, but ling never returned one call. If that’s true or not I can’t verify, just what I was told.

Make of that what you will.
