Interesting
Well I’m pleased the safety net has completely gone and not surprised they didn’t all agree on the appointment

Let’s see if it works out . Big pressure now on Ross as it’s either results or the sack

Agreed.

Was also interesting to hear that (a) the club has a transfer committee and that (b) all players have been graded based on them being "League 1 capable". There were 4 grades with

NT also said that Holloway has effectively bought Grimsby.

The new keeper chose us over 2 League One clubs because of his relationship with RE.

Teague and Travis now need to back Embleton with funds during the January window to help justify this appointment.

The content of a lot of the interview won't please many on here. I think Ross has probably made a poor decision taking the job because the one thing you know about being a manager is that sooner or later you get sacked or resign, he is obviously a good coach and decent number two and everyone agrees he is a top bloke but he has put his head on the block, what happens if he fails and they sack him do we go through all this again and make Jobi interim?

T&T are very honest but some of the things they said about the transfer committee and their ideas left me thinking they are trying to reinvent the wheel and the great new idea from Kent about identifying players in the squad who can play in league one left me cold - should have been done earlier this season before 2 year contracts were handed out like smarties, most of this lot are not good enough for league two and we all know that.

Also there has to come a time when we try and put the painful events of the summer behind us (and I am not being in any way disrespectful to Justin and his family) we have to move forward and stop constantly looking back and finding excuses.

I got the impression that this was only brought in as a result of early season failings. I saw this as a slight on ML's judgement.

If Embleton fails then Ling as his biggest advocate should go and we should combine their salaries towards an experienced manager, it was galling to hear Travis say that some of the people on the list were asking for salaries beyond our means.

What he said was something along the lines of "their expected salaries based on their previous club" - so probably men of experience.....

If it doesn’t work out, which I sadly don’t think it will, then Ling will have to go too, same for Webby.

Jobi is possibly low enough down the chain so as to be protected when the next manager cons in, if he wants to stay on.

Also, never mind which players can play in L1 - work out those that can play in L2 first, please.

The logic behind the appointment seems to have been a case of not asking who is available, because we already knew. It's more "who is most suited to coach Orient?". Can't deny that makes sense, but it's a brave decision.

It shouldn’t be about Jobi staying on if he wants to though should it? If a new manager comes in then he should have the option to select his own staff. If he’s happy with what he is inheriting then fine, if not then let him change it.

Did Eddie Howe get the level of distrust that Embleton is getting when he got his first manager role?

Not really, it's more like they were asking for more than we thought they were worth, not that we couldn't afford to pay what they wanted.

A bit of a repetitive interview but some decent points emerged from it. Obviously it was going to take a lot of time to move on from the tragic events of the summer - that the fanbase has been largely so impatient about this has been the biggest shame of this season. Don't think Travis should have apologised either, the club has no duty to keep its fans informed during a manager recruitment process, we're lucky to receive as much communication as we do from them.
