Ross Embleton Full Match Record

It would appear that we are about to embark on a period with Ross as our head coach. A role that he has previously decided wasn’t for him. We have all heard Ling keep on pushing the merits of Ross to inherit the top job, which quite frankly at times has been emabarrasing. It is clear to me that Ross is not the man for the role in my opinion. We appear to be devoid of a pattern of play, our tactics seem inept and how many formations has he tried? A player wants to know what the plan is, where are we going and how are we going to get there. I did not see any evidence of a roadmap in anything that we do.
Ling it would appear has blindsided the board in to following his mantra. I would suggest that he is scared to find us a top quality head coach for the level we are at to come in for fear of a) challenging him and more importantly b) fear of failure.
I get the continuity angle which the owners appear so entrenched into following, most businesses do operate in such a fashion and let’s be honest a person born within the culture is going to be the best exponent of it. So I get it. What I fail to grasp is why they wish to persist with a person who publicly stated he didn’t want it, who has failed to demonstrate he deserves it (results based) and has a clear plan on where we are going. Right now it feels like it did under Bullshitti where we couldn’t buy a win. Remember we are only 1 point better today than he season we lost our league status, let that sink in for a moment.
So Ross was appointed to the role of whatever on the 14/11/17 and during that time he played 3 games and won zero of them.
He took up the mantle once more on 3/6 under terrible circumstances and it was only after he quit the role did results pick up with 5 wins from 16 games.
Finally he resumed his role on the 16/11 having won only 1 from 9 games.
Played 3 Won 0 D2 L1 Win 0%
Played 16 Won 5 D4 L7 Win 31%
Played 9 Won 1 D4 L4 Win 11%
Overall 28 Won 6 D10 L12 Win 21%
If we extrapolate the numbers over a 46 game season then we will end up with 44 points which is in the squeaky bum zone.
Just for comparison and we all know how bad Davis was he was fired for having a 27% win rate.
If he gets the job it will put to bed the uncertainty and I will support him like I have every orient manager. However, I do not believe he is the best placed candidate to take on this role right now, and right now we need certainty and a roadmap.
