Deducted 6 points for non payment of wages and cancellation of the Crewe league game with a further 4 points suspended and will be deducted if there is further non payment or postponements.

That’ll be us not bothering to hire an actual football manager then.

Why waste money hiring a manager when you can just let other teams get relegated through sanctions instead.

Our strategy is working perfectly! Hope that either one of Macclesfield or Morecambe can finish below us and it's a successful season!

Should makes us even more thankful that we have proper owners.

And that was why I had them down as relegation candidates at the start of the season. Not on football reasons but because the finances were always going to go bang first.

Embleton contract announced Saturday now I reckon, Ling kicking back and relaxing a relieved man tonight.

I think they will still end up with more points than us - assuming they don't get the extra -4 deduction.
We have to do our stuff and not look over our shoulders.
I'd only appoint RE if he gets positive results over the next 5 - 8 matches. If not, then its an experienced guy to ensure we don't go down and someone who can see us a lot higher up the table next season

FFS Ling - sort this out properly!

It's getting worse for Macclesfield

Zero capacity safety certificate for tomorrow's game at home to Plymouth

IE No fans allowed because of safety issues

That must be weird for the teams, playing a competitive game in almost silence.

But I think that is another nail in the coffin for Macclesfield FC. I can't see them seeing the season out.

The match between Macclesfield and Plymouth tomorrow is off as the EFL have refused to allow it to be played behind closed doors. This probably means that another points deduction is highly likely.

Les Sealey's son Joe is in talks to take over at Macclesfield, doing due diligence, I bet that's fun with the problems they are having.

Surely our professional pride should mean we at least try to win a few games .

Well Dagenham and Redbridge suffer with that every home game!

It looks very much like macclesfield will be docked more points , and should they not see it through the season then we would have that loss to them wiped out whereas some of our rivals would have points gained scrubbed out. Would it also mean no club would be relegated?

If Macca go dowm because of docked points, or in fact, are wound up, then it would mean there will be no relegation this season, and Orients board will have gotten away with all the mistakes they have made

Unless the EFL decide to change things (would not surprise me) then should Macclesfield not fulfil their fixtures then no, there wouldn't be any relegation.

Then we can all relax and regroup for next season and hopefully prepare better for a promotion push.

Only if we finish 24th or 23rd.

If we finish 22nd or above then the lack of relegation places is irrelevant anyway.

The goal this season, in my mind, was to stay in the football league. I think the club have made a pigs ear of the manager situation but staying up is still a decent season.

It’s next season where my criticism will be much harder if things don’t change.

I'm not sure the goal was to just stay in the league. If you look back at Kent tweets sometime ago he said we were behind where he expected us to be. At that time his points total had us around the play offs I seem to recall. On top of that we have the top 8 budget I think Ling said so if that's the case we are underperforming against both metrics.

I agree though the board and Ling have proper messed matters up since the sad events of the summer.

I think that when Justin passed the goalposts should have shifted to simply stay in the league. This isn’t unreasonable. I’m willing to accept this season as a bit of a write off as long as we stay up.

What will p*ss me off is if failing to appoint a proper football manager has knock on effects into next season.

In my opinion we should be recruiting a manager now, giving him the rest of the season to work our who he wants for next season and what he needs so we can get ready for a genuine play-off push next season.

My fear is that the club will go down the “we’ll just give it to Ross and see how that goes” Route. Then we are back to square 1 this time next year when Ross is gone because the team is languishing in the bottom half of the table. It’s shockingly bad upper management.

Happy to be proven wrong either by

A. The club actually appointing a football manager in the next few weeks

B. Ross turns out to be some sort of League 2 Brian Clough and is a success

As it currently stands, I’m not convinced either will happen.

No, it's Ling that has made the f*ck ups, he reports to T&T and they take on board what he says. He recommends anything and
everything and mostly go by what he says, I would assume.
FFS Ling!

If Macclesfield goes there won't be a 23rd spot either .
