Did any questions get asked from this board? I normally listen on a Friday morning, but not had a chance yet.

Ok I’ve lsitened to the show now and the major point for me was the Matt Porter interaction with a fan called Darren on Twitter. This is the exchange.
I agree with the comments made on the show and regardless of what ML said in the Q&A it would seem that something is afoot right now.
After reading the above what do others think? If you’ve not listened to the show this comment is discussed at 29.45 onwards however the manager role is discussed much earlier and is quite a good chat covering the situation we find ourselves in right now.

Cheers Thor, personally think an announcement one way or the other is needed. I thought it was a very frank and open discussion

I think with a draw and changes made Ross has stopped the rot and should be given a little more time. If he does well over the next couple of games they should announce that he has the job til the end of the season.
MP has made it clear that they are keeping an eye on things and wont 'let it all unravel'.

They do say that on the show that he's probably got another couple of games to show he can do it and or that he wants to do it.
If we want to be active in the market in Jan we need to be clear on what's required and wanted and have all the dots joined up within the club first.

Fletcher had a total of 5 games in charge. 1 win ( on pens ) in the EFL trophy 1 draw, 3 defeats. Scored 3 Conceded 9.
Embleton has had 4 games in charge since then . 0 wins 1 draw 3 defeats ( inc on pens in EFL trophy) Scored 4 Conceded 8
Not seeing a huge improvement in results tbh. If Porter’s comments are being correctly interpreted, does a defeat on Saturday at home to Bradford mean that the club is intending to start the recruitment process again?

I reckon what the club want: Embleton to pick up a few wins, so we don't have to employ anyone until the end of the season.
I think from what Porter says, the club will be forced into action if we drop too close to the relegation zone. I believe the process has lost all credibility for the moment, that's why Travis seemingly won't trust a Ling recommendation and wants to double-check it by getting him to Boston. I do believe that despite public appearances things have to change a bit before an outsider comes in, that change will be easier once there is nothing to play for.
If we have to get someone in I can see it being a firefighter type who has run out of options who has to accept the backroom on a deal to end of season only, someone a like Wally Downes.

Interesting comment re “ firefighter type”. For that to happen the club would really have to be in deep, deep trouble I should think as it would go against almost everything that the owners / DoF / Porter have previously presented as their “ model” candidate.

If we are to go after someone now or in the future then we really need to get the best possible manager we could get. This next appointment, should one be made needs to be spot on, we can't afford another mistake.

The fact that a professional football club is trying to convince it’s fans that we don’t need an actual football manager to lead the club is borderline insulting.
Ross has been put into a terrible and awkward situation. He’s the manager...but he isn’t.
What astonishes me is that our owners are accomplished businessman. One of the key things in any organisation is that individuals understand what they are responsible for and how accountable they are for results.
We currently find ourselves in a situation where we have an interim head coach. Nobody knows what his overall responsibilities are and what he is s accountable for.
If Orient go on a 5 match losing streak starting Saturday, what happens?
We already know that Ross won’t be sacked as he’s not accountable for the club’s performance. So what happens?
It’s a shambles.
Get a proper manager in and stop trying to fob off fans with excuses. Even my local Greggs hires a new manager to take the reigns so why on earth won’t Leyton Orient football club?

If the results aren't good enough they will get someone in.
How many points this month will convince you that RE is a manager?

I’ll be convinced he’s a manager when the club have the decency to give him the title.
For the record, I no issue with Ross Embleton. I have an issue with how the club has failed to appoint a manager, regardless of who it is.
