So we’re plodding on with the strategy of being a professional football club in the Football League without a proper manager.

I appreciate that the circumstances leading us to being in this position were tragic but the club has hardly covered itself in glory by the way it’s handled this.

To be without a proper manager 6 months after losing Justin really isn’t acceptable. Get somebody with experience in. Hire somebody who is actually a football manager. Not relying on a coach in a difficult situation.

We can continue to grieve the loss of Justin and respect his memory, but running the club with the management structure of mates in a Sunday league pub team is getting beyond a joke now.

Embarrassing, the board need to pull their finger out and find a direction to move us forward.

Why the surprise?

We’ve been told were going to bumble along as is for the time being.

Not sure I'd say that but the way it seems to be run seems to be a recipe for disaster.I hope I am wrong.

It's a nothing update really. Ross is basically a puppet here, if we take less than 2 points in December we are going to be too close to the bottom for comfort and the club will have to act and just get in a manager, back him with funds and sort out the fallout at the end of the season.

The approach seems to me to be to hope Ross keeps us at least 6 points from relegation so that he can stay in the job until such time that Calderwood gets fired and we take him on.

I despair at Lingy blaming the market for not giving us decent managers, a bit like posting a picture of yourself on Tinder after a big night out with only 2 hours sleep and then complain the quality isn't there and that nobody is interested.

To me it was always a mistake doing this interim stuff.... said at the start of the season that if things go tits up Ross might be more of the problem rather than the solution, and he could always be given a job in the academy.

We know the players have stepped up to a better level, but it doesn't make sense to me that the tightest defence in the National League becomes the worst defence in L2. At the very least we need a decent defensive coach IMO, and Ross hogging one of the spots cuts the chances of that.

It is the Little Leyton Orient way these days.

This whole affair is an embarrassment to the club and its owners.
Losing JE has been a severe blow, but what's happened since is totally unacceptable, and actually quite needless.
We should have been a very attractive proposition for a new management team, but have closed ranks on outside 'interference'.
Now we have to accept that at least another year or so will be lost whilst we flounder about in a pool of our own crap.

Otherwise, everything is great

Hope he can turn it around, can only afford to give him a few more games as a new man would need the window to change things.

Embarrassment, not really. Mystifying yes.

I understand the care the team wanted to put into Fletcher's appointment and so accepted that it took time but there has now become an unacceptable drift that sees us directionless. We don't know where the blame lies, but its somewhere between Ling and the rest of the board. Either that or weak management has succumbed to the playing staff's notion of failing to deal with JE's tragedy. This last one, if the case, needs busting up with a firm but fair hand. It all screams out for a new manager.

I think it 's all about somehow not getting relegated this season and rebuilding for next season.

Embers may do this and I wish him the best. :8

A new midfielder in January and we will be ok.

Little evidence so far that Embleton can sort out our defence.

I'd say that you're more of an embarrassment than the club.

I've said it before and I'll say it again- the squad needs breaking up if we are every going to be able to move on. We need some fresh blood and ideas who were not close to the club before the events of the summer.

I hope the positivity he speaks about shows through on the pitch, this little break may well have helped us more than we care to think about.

Ive been saying for a long time now, the club isnt being run well..........and most of you slaughtered me for saying it. what a turnaround, as most are now saying the same thing..
I think the board are hopeful that because of Burys demise, that we can avoid the one relegation spot, and then bring in a manager in the summer, ready for next season. This may work, but it is very risky as we may finish bottom.
I cant see any permanent buys coming in , in January either...maybe a loan
We need about 7 more wins to keep up, and I wouldnt bet on us even winning one game at the moment
