Good to see old Tolkny there btl.

Good interview and Jobi has proved to be an inspired choice as Captain.

Good article and he's had a strange old Orient journey.

When he left first time you'd struggle to find anyone who had a good word to say about him, in fact, he got some dogs abuse in that first spell.

His repetitional turn around has been dramatic. He has been massive this year, on and off the pitch.

Jobi is a top man for sure and along with JE, one of the main reasons we are where we are. If you look at all the other players Beelzebub & Co managed to reduce to dross while they were here (and have now gone on to play well for other clubs) it's no real surprise how Jobi has flourished under our new regime.

Much as Jobi wants to "do it" for the fans I also want the players and club stalwarts to get what they deserve tomorrow. Onwards and upwards.

Will never forget the poison directed at him at Solihull last season, less than 18 months ago - taking a corner in front of his own fans with the team 1-0 down and only 5 minutes to go. Then he came over at the final whistle to try and reason with people, which just set everyone off even more - maybe not the wisest move, but a very courageous and well-intentioned thing to do.

He deserves every accolade coming his way, especially from those who were giving it invective for things which were never his fault. A model pro, a terribly nice chap, and very articulate for a footballer too.

Some really good comments on here, can't give thumbs up on this forum ( yet ? ) So I give you ALL a thumbs up and let's hope for the right result tomorrow !!

Sure but excluding Koroma, Judd and Happe, none of the players went through what we went through. Tomorrow is for us fans.

Nobody played well for Beelzebub except Coxy who I believe was playing for the supporters, not Beelzebub. With Beelzebub treating people the way he was it's no wonder we lost our league status. The damage Beelzebub done to the club off the pitch has been repaired, please God and with Jobi's help, it will be repaired on it as well with our return to the EFL. COME ON YOU O'S .!!

It's a good interview and very praiseworthy of the new owners. Also, he quite rightly slates the Beelzebub regime and how badly he was treated by him.

Sorry I doubted him first time round but it was an awful time for everyone.

Probably not knowing how bad it was behind the scenes didn't help.

Fully agree with the rest of your post btw. Sadly saving face is more important to some of our fans and they'll just never admit they were wrong about him

In my experience, McAnuff is more articulate than the typical mean/mode/median average footballer. That's all I'm saying. I'm not comparing the articulacy of footballers with other professions... though while we're here, I may as well say they're typically less articulate than most lawyers, scientists, journalists, and musicians of my acquaintance.

Or, perhaps even more likely, conveniently forget how wrong they were in the first place.

I hope he really enjoys parading the trophy around in front of the adoring faces of those who called him some pretty disgusting names not that long ago. He deserves it.

He was right. It was Beelzebub's with all his behind the scene shannigans.

In his own words we never got to see the real McAnuff first time around. The poisonous atmosphere really showed in his performances and attitude and you can easily dig up my posts from back then about it so not going to pretend otherwise.

He's well and truly showed the qualities of the player we thought he was based on his previous pedigree this time around though. Inspirational in leading the squad with fitness level and work rate that's incredible for his age.

We'll really miss his nous and calmness on the ball when he eventually does stop playing. Whether he does it after this fairytale ending will be interesting or maybe he fancies one more go at league level. Certainly won't be as bruising as NL so perhaps one more year?

Wish people would stop rewriting history.
