As it should be.

Decent, clear statement.

Still think we should smash up the away end during the return fixture.

Agreed and we should smuggle roast beef sandwiches into the ground and distribute them to the home fans because they will be gantin' for some real food.

Huxley, you are the sort of "supporter" the Club, and football in general, can do without.

Throw mouldy meat pies at them at the away fixture.

Well that's a surprise move by the FA however, well done to them for taking a common sense approach to this matter.

I'd also like to say well done to Ross and the words he used in that statement, it really captures what he is about as a person.

A sorry episode. Still think that throwing chewing gum at somebody, whatever the perceived provocation, is not a "manly" thing to do.

I’d argue that joyless boarders who can’t detect sarcasm a mile off are worse.

You have a very strange idea of sarcasm

Didn’t think it would be necessary, but for the benefit of the hard of thinking I wasn’t sincerely suggesting that we vandalise the away section at FGR.

We should just chuck sausage rolls at their chairman instead.

Again, for the dense ones, that was a joke as well.

It's the kind of thing that backs up Ling's initial (correct) statement of Embleton being better suited as a #2 rather than trying to fit in the top job that doesn't suit.

The fact he had enough of a thought process to not go for physical violence but then couldn't control himself enough not to do something petty doesn't befit someone in the manager role. As an assistant you can do that kind of thing to some extent, not the first time he's had a bit of a strop on the sideline either but not when you're the main man leading the team.

Can imagine the conversations at the chairman level were pretty much:
Travis: 'My man said that your man said this'
Vince: 'My man said that he did not say it'.

It is a result that there seems to be no suspensions though, I thought an automatic suspension might be a deterrent for other managers in future.

I can't get Ross's last line, which seems to imply that he might lose his temper again at the same jibes. How else is he gonna 'defend' it?
It seems to me for now the word 'imposter' is quite a loaded one, but it is an insult that other coaches could use with impunity.

It might have been more productive for the club to state that the dugout area will now be covered by cameras and microphones (or even that coaches could wear a bodycam) to prevent such a situation from happening again.

He may well absolutely lose it again should a similar comment be made. He's defending his late friend and emotions can run high at such times.

That last bit about cameras and mics around the dugout could cause legal issues for at least one of our more vociferous supporters.

Make up your mind. First you want to leather their fans and then you poo poo it and back down.

Next you want to do their chairman and then macaroni your pants and say you're just joking. What the hell is going on in your head man?

I have an old mate who supports FGR and he's frae Greenock and would do you any day, pal.

And he’s exactly the sort of “supporter” FGR, and football in general, could do without.

I agree . Even looking at the final incredibly melodramatic sentence in the statement “ I will forever defend the name of Justin Edinburgh” it smacks of posturing on a grand scale.
Perhaps before the match at FGR RE can challenge Cooper to a duel and they can face off with pistols at dawn?

Given his green credentials we should take flares into the ground.

On 2nd thoughts, he's an ex-hippy, so he'd love a pair of flares.

Pasties at dawn, may be better 😜
