There can only be one. Peter Kitchen. What a player, what a finisher and it was gutting when he left as I honestly thought we might actually get somewhere. My young days over the park, I'd pretend to be the great man, playing centre forward I'd even copied the way he ran! During his second time at the club I was given his match worn shirt which he signed and which I still have today.

Honourable mentions Joe Mayo, he made Kitch the player he was in my eyes. Shinners if only for cry of Rhino. Kevin Campbell for the impact he made and for the massive contribution to getting us promoted.

The top two are standouts for me, can't choose between them. That 6 goes some way to making up for some of the awful carthorses we had upfront for the rest of the 90's and early 00's

Lisbie. My first game was in the 97/98 season and I’m pretty sure he’s the best and most likeable striker we’ve had since then.

Special mentions to Boyd, Alexander, Steele, Simpson and Bonne, who have all been our best goalscoring strikers since my first game.

Peter Kitchen

Dead heat for me between Peter Kitchen and Carl Griffiths. Close runners up would be Mickey Bullock, Joe Mayo, Barrie Fairbrother & Vic Halom.

Of recent times, Bonne has impressed me a lot, has to be amongst the hardest working strikers that I have seen in all my years of watching/following the Os. He continues to improve now he is playing in the Championship. Bonne is a real professional and always gives 100%, shame he is no longer with us.

Whenever i think back of my time supporting the O's for fifty years the player that always comes to my mind first for everything is PETER KITCHEN...pure class with a great style of play.
If he played now he would score 30 goals a season standing on his head.

Peter Kitchen without any doubt.

Super Carl for me.

Kevin Lisbie. Joined us in the twilight of his career and put all he had learnt to good use. Plus he is a fantastic man whose joy is infectious to those who he played with and watched him.

Ian Bowyer - dunno what happened to him but he was sublime up front/ on the wing for the Os.

In recent times I think John Marquis would have been great under better management, and Bonne deserves a mention because he always gave 100% even though his finishing was not quite perfect.

Didn't Bowyer win the European cup at forest under Clough?

Never saw Peter Kitchen so I'll go for Carl Griffiths. Been a fair few good strikers but when it came to actually putting the ball in the net I've not seen an Orient player who could touch him.

When Ian Bowyer first arrived at the Os, I saw him score a wonderful hat-trick on his home debut in the 4-1 over Cardiff City.
We all thought we had something really special after seeing him play for the first time !

but below is the part about his time at Nottingham Forest. Strange that after being at Forest for 8 years, he left for one year to join Sunderland and then came back again to Forest for another 5 years ?

Nottingham Forest

In 1973 Bowyer moved to Nottingham Forest in the second tier of the Football League.[3] Brian Clough took over as manager in 1975 bringing in Peter Taylor as his assistant the year after. Bowyer and Forest were promoted back to the top tier at the end of the 1976-77 Football League first season Clough and Taylor were in charge at Forest. In their first season back in the top flight Forest were Football League champions finishing seven points above Liverpool (at a time when two points were awarded for a win). Forest beat Liverpool in a replay in that season's 1978 Football League Cup Final. Forest retained the League Cup the season after beating Southampton 3–2 with Bowyer an unused substitute in the final. They were drawn against Liverpool in the first round of the 1978-79 European Cup progressing 2–0 on aggregate. In the semi final Bowyer scored the decisive goal against FC Köln in the 1–0 win in Germany after a 3–3 draw in Nottingham. Bowyer played in the 1–0 1979 European Cup Final win against Malmo just as he did the following season against Hamburger SV.
Sunderland.
He left Forest in January 1981 to join Sunderland, debuting for them on 28 January 1981 against Manchester United.
Return to Forest
The following year he re-joined Forest and went on to make another 200 league appearances for them,[1] finishing with a total of 564 Forest senior games, scoring 96 goals.[3]
