Man City

Post by Thor »

It’s been reported in the press today that a provate equity form called silver lake have just invested £389m in city, this values the group at £3.73bn.

The owner goes on to say this will help with an aggressive expansion plan and he further commented that 'We and Silver Lake share the strong belief in the opportunities being presented by the convergence of entertainment, sports and technology and the resulting ability for CFG to generate long-term growth and new revenue streams globally.'

This is the second investment in the club after a Chinese company took a stake I believe last year. What I don’t get is the owner has one of the worlds largest wealth funds available so why does he need inward investment? Are they getting around ffp with this investment?

They tried to invest in Chelsea and were told thanks, but no thanks and Abramovich is nowhere near the wealth of the city owner so why take in investment, which dilutes your holding and potential profit share which could and so far has been reinvested back into the club.

Someone please enlighten me cos I’m not getting it. If it was Orient I’d say yeah great deal cos as rich as our owners are further investment in us would allow a multitude of things to happen, when your city and you’ve more or less unlimited funds, I don’t get it.

I've no idea about this case, but it might be possible that they think they can make money out if it. That's what football is about after all.

They’re a small club with little revenue. They have to play silly bollocks with finances to avoid FFP rules.

So does that mean Man Utd also have little revenue as they two clubs have a very similar income, except Man City's is increasing as Man United's is decreasing

To be honest, I'm more concerned about Orient staying in League 2.

Man City are the clearest example on why I love to say

COME ON ORIENT

every Saturday. I'd rather be dead in ditch than support a club like that.

Manchester City had a little revenue of only £535.2million in 2018/19 ( only 2nd English Club to exceed £500m income)

Manchester United most recent income figures was £587m

Tbh I thought BiggsyMalone was just being flippant and not really making a serious point. His point could never be serious, could it?

I refer you back to my original point about them playing silly bollocks with their finances i.e financial doping. You're not very good at this stuff, are you.
