Christ on a bike
More 'insight' from Martin. I wonder if its about shoes again, or just some other cobblers
When's the interview with Carl, that's what I'd like to know, so to speak

Not looking to interview anyone for the Manager’s job, Ross Embleton has the job as long as he wants it but will be under review.
Well thanks for f*ck all Martin , where are the lessons that were supposed to be learnt ?
Embleton has said he doesn’t want the job, so why saddle him with a job he doesn’t want, it’s called being a bully boy and you of all people should accept that is not acceptable.Do the right thing by Embleton, the fans and the club and advertise immediately for a proven, experienced Manager at this level with absolutely no caveats!

That is utterly ludicrous.
A professional football club in League Two which doesn’t have a proper manager. Instead it has an interim head coach, who already stepped down once, who is in place until he decides he doesn’t fancy it anymore.
What the f*ck kind of amateur hour system is that?
It’s astonishing how badly this situation is being managed.
The biggest respect this club can pay to Justin’s memory is to get a proper, experienced manager in place to guide the club to safety.
At the moment we are in serious danger of being dragged into a relegation battle with a man at the helm who doesn’t really want to be there.
Madness.

Ross signed off with what was it, a 5 game unbeaten run, after announcing he would be stepping down. He must have had regrets at that point. He's then seen Fletcher come in and realised if he can give it a go, why can't he?
There is no bullying involved.

There's far too much to unpick in this interview. He's misjudged the fan's opinion completely. No one has suggested he's running a mafia, a section of fans do think however that his insistence to keep the coaching setup as it is, is not to the benefit of the coach long term. We know there's an issue because Ross has said they didn't like an outsider coming in.
People complained about Fletcher's interviews but Ling's are awful.

And he's taken back over with what record?

Its a little concerning to hear ML say that Sat was the first time he'd seen our centre midfield overran by Ebou.
Really? What does he watch? Out centre midfield is what's costing us every single game.

After Fletcher left and the Q&A with Ling etc Embleton said
“A month or so ago I said (while interim coach) thatI didn’t Thant the job on a permanent basis.I’m not going to stand here now and say I want the job, because that would look ridiculous “
It could not be any clearer he doesn’t want the job permanently, therefore to not advertise the job is perverse and puts Embleton under unnecessary pressure to continue on a permanent basis, which in my book is bullying!

A deeply worrying collection of thoughts from Ling
His master 'plan' is to go with Ross 'hopefully until the end of the season' and hope that he can get a couple of wins.
Nothing in our form or the players body languague or confidence suggests this will happen.
We are 6 points (2 defeats) from the bottom of the table. We lost to Macclesfield, got outplayed by Morecambe and struggled to beat an injury ravaged Stevenage at home.
What planet Martin Ling is on the at the moment is anyones guess. He clearly has his head in the clouds.
I particularly liked his 'if we play to our best we are a midtable league 2 side' comment as well as the 'hope we are in the middle 8' group of the league. If that doesn't show you ambition I don't know what does!

It pains me to say this, but I believe ML is a football dinosaur and I know quite a few people where I sit in the South Stand, think the same!

Haven't listen to it yet, but I will at some stage, was there any suggestion he was ostracising the fans?

No, he said he didn't care about criticism.
I don't believe my question was ever asked (why the club did barely any video content with Fletcher), but I have been flicking through it quickly - can anyone tell me the answer to that.

This is the same Martin ling who a few weeks back thought that Carl Fletcher was the right man for the job. Now he says that Ross it the right man for the job and he knows he has it in it. Ross doesn't even believe he has it in him. There is only one way this club is going at the moment and its downwards. The unbalance in the squad is coming home to roost and the uncertainty from the board is quite startling. A few more defeats and Ross will be out again. Where is the forward planning? is Ling looking at potential targets for January already? We find ourselves in a quite ridiculous position at the moment and I find it hard to believe that shrewd business men like T&T and football men like Porter and Ling have let it get to this

I thought that was an extremely good and honest interview from Martin and Elliot. The two questions in my mind is does Ross want to be in permanent charge of the team . Secondly will he be given funds in January to strengthen our squad . I only hope between Ross , Danny and Jobi, they know who to bring in during the January transfer window .

Elliot said Carl realized his comments/ body language were not coming across very well and he was taking active steps to improve it

OK cheers mate.
If he could not come across well in a relaxed, pre-recorded video segment where you can do multiple takes until you get it right, the mind boggles as how his comments and body language could be great in an job interview!

As much as I'm not a fan of these I've put this one on during the commute to hear the ML interview. Only got through one hour (seriously 3 hours... wow) but some interesting takes...
Embleton has the job until end of the season unless he fails spectacularly. Ling isn't looking and just filing any candidates in Outlook to look at when he's bored
There's no doubt Ross is a lovely guy as Ling keeps saying but that seems to be the only qualification for him being suitable for the job. Davis was nice too apparently but that's not enough on its own. Somewhat worrying we define success by how pally managers are with players. On one hand he laughs at the "Ling Mafia" conspiracy theories but the next says how a manager has to accept the strengths of Embleton / Webb without question. Doesn't leave much room for manoeuvre and perhaps that's why the pool of applicants is so poor.
Nice little jibe at Hearn or Beelzebub, could be either... "unlike some who buy clubs and pretend to be an Orient fan but really aren't". Spicy
Elliot Byrne bringing back the emotion of the JE events, wasn't expecting that but all I can say is by making that tribute video from his emotional perspective he captured the thoughts of everyone who watched it perfectly. I think he's doing a fine job in the media role, interesting insights too.
Not got to the transfer window part but I can guess it's more burying head in the sand stuff from Ling. If he can't see the weaknesses in the squad at this level we're in deep trouble. Never mind bottom 8 it'll be bottom 3 before long.

It really is, looked at the seek bar after the hour drive into work and I'm not even near halfway
Perhaps in light of the epic length it could be titled "Lord of the Lings"...
Really needs splitting into parts for each separate topic as if you skip around it's easy to miss something important.
