Re: Kyprianou
I’ve seen him play once and liked what I saw. By all accounts from others who’ve seen him play more, he’s the real deal and has the potential to go all the way. I hope he breaks through with us soon so we as fans can at least say we saw him play when he hits the big stage, and to say he was an O.

Re: Kyprianou
I agree, think he could well be the ''Real Deal'' seen him play and have written on this forum a few times that Hector is a really good and stylish young player. I think CF was on the verge of giving him a League debut, praised him a lot after we beat the Brighton under 21s !Thor wrote: ↑Tue Nov 19, 2019 9:10 pm I’ve seen him play once and liked what I saw. Passes the ball really well, has time, looks very cultured on the ball, a bit like a Glenn Roeder style to me.
Surely a chance soon to introduce him to the first team, perhaps starting off by coming off the subs bench for the last 20 minutes or so.
But will Ross Embleton drop established players to give younger players a chance ? Lets face it, you dont know if they will ''cut the mustard'' if you never give them a chance to show what they are capable of. Meanwhile, Alabi gets a regular run off the bench while the youngsters dont get much of a look in.

Playing some youngsters may be the way our of this current malaise. At least the crowd would get behind them more, giving the team a much-needed lift.

Re: Kyprianou
Why not play youth when we are well known for a good academy. I still don’t know why Ogie and Sotiriou haven’t been given a chance when none else is performing so well to keep them out the side.

Yeah but who can even remember that far back? Let's get them in and try again for old times sake.Red_Army wrote: ↑Thu Nov 21, 2019 9:18 amThat went so well in 2016/17.Give it to Jabo wrote: ↑Wed Nov 20, 2019 3:04 pm Playing some youngsters may be the way our of this current malaise. Re: Kyprianou
I have said the same thing so many times, same goes for Ruel Sotiriou.
In Jayden Sweeney's case, if he is not going to get a chance in the first team, then perhaps time for him to be loaned out to gain more experience.

No one is saying play the entire youth teamRed_Army wrote: ↑Thu Nov 21, 2019 9:18 amThat went so well in 2016/17.Give it to Jabo wrote: ↑Wed Nov 20, 2019 3:04 pm Playing some youngsters may be the way our of this current malaise. If you're short up front as we have been and the only option is someone who is already proven to be ineffective (Alabi) what's the risk in playing Sotiriou off the bench instead?
If all the academy does is produce players to sell for nominal amounts to Prem / Championship U23 sides to apply some polish before making them first team regulars does it justify the large amounts we're seemingly sinking into it?

Re: Kyprianou
If the club produce young players who they then give professional contracts to, i take it that they rate them highly. If senior first team players are not performing then why not give younger players a chance. I know all about timing etc but it's div2 not Premier, LaLiga or Champions league standard. This club has a history of home grown talent and supporters get excited when one of our own get there chance. You never know what you have until you give them that opportunity. Rofe, Roeder, Grealish, Cunningham, Chiedozie etc. All came through the system and give fans pride in there club.

Just because they are young and ours, it doesn't mean they are going to make the team any better.AckneyAwks wrote: ↑Thu Nov 21, 2019 4:19 pm If the club produce young players who they then give professional contracts to, i take it that they rate them highly.
