Last season I thought he would be real special this season, but has not really proved to be so.
Also why is it that every free kick or corner he takes is exactly the same to the far post? The only one he took differently on Saturday was the one that Alabi should have out away. Someone obviously needs to tell him!

I reckon even James knows he should have directed that one in the general direction of the goal, not the corner flag.

TBH I don't think much has changed with him, more that everything else has changed.
A skilled player, but offers not much defensively or in terms of work rate.
Fine if he is in a team that is attacking and has plenty of the ball, for games where this doesn't happen and we need a bit more graft he is going to look poor.
IMO he is a better number 10 than a winger, but that formation to accomodate that appears dead unless other players come in.

He did get a fair few decent deliveries in on Saturday, to be fair.

JMD is an enigma. Some of his crosses in the first half were there for the taking and would have changed the game if somebody had got on the end of one. However, he does disappear from games, is lightweight in the tackle and......on Saturday was the the player who didn't close down the goalscorer.

You have corner routines and Ross said they worked in them the day before so everyone will know what's happening. Whilst there should be variation otherwise the opposition work you out, however, the instructions will have already been worked out prior to the game. So either the game plan was that 1 corner in the limited time they had or he decided not to vary it.

He was on loan to Wrexham last season before we signed him and their fans thought he was a bit of an enigma also.

Some of his crosses on Sat were good as said above, I also agree with the poster who said hes a number 10 again we need someone behind to mop up after him and as we all know that person is not in the club as ML has decided we don't need them.

Even if Martin now decided we do need one, there’s nothing we can do about it until January. The mistake was made in the Summer by not bringing in that type of player in the first place

Personally I would prefer Dennis playing out wide and JMD playing off the striker in the middle.
I thought Dennis did better when playing as a winger rather than a striker.
