So we now know 7 players were on Fletcher's boot list and a couple of them "shocked" Travis and Ling. Who do you reckon they were?

Alabi and Ling.

Brill, Ling, Coulson, Widdowson and Clay.

Only Carlisle have conceded more than us, so it makes sense Fletcher would fancy a bit of a clear-out at the back, plus we know the problems with the central midfield. Imagine they're all on quite a high wage as well.

Must be Clay. Probably Coulson. Not really a shock. Well it shouldn’t be.

Brill, Coulson, Clay, Ling, Alabi, Embleton, Webb is my guess.

I was thinking to be a shock it must've included some of the summer signings too

Might have been a shock for Travis and Ling but i bet we wouldn’t be shocked. I’ll go with, Brill, Ling, Coulson, Clay ,Gorman, Alabi and Harrold.

Its not a question of who but timing. I think the shock was to do with the fact that he listed players with a good deal of contract left. The club can't just offload them. The board would expect any manager to get the most out of the likes of Ling and Coulson at least until they're out of contract. He isn't obliged to play them but he can't just recruit a replacement while they're still on the wage bill.

No, the board have just extended their contracts so expect them to be an integral part of the team.

I think most of us fans would come up with something similar.

Maybe the issue was he put Samling on the list ?

I am in no way saying they should be booted out, just who I think he thought should go.

Can imagine that someone relayed the list back to Embleton or Webb, and in turn the list got relayed back to the players, then it was game over for Fletcher as everyone closed ranks.

The rumours were that the staff and players did not get on eye to eye, either he shunned them or they shunned him, something like this would have done it.
